Recommended by our real estate agent. Andy (the inspector) was very friendly, easy to talk to, and answered our questions as they came up. He did a systematic visual inspection of the house. He offered many maintenance tips that were specific to the systems installed in the house, along with some preventative maintenance tips. He provided a typed report with photos showing the concerns to be addressed, giving an indication of the urgency of each problem. He pointed out things that may not have a been a problem at the time but could progress into one if not addressed.
He was available following the inspection to answer further questions that we had. Overall we were pleased with this company’s service.

My wife & I were looking to purchase a second home and we hired Safe Homes Canada and Andy to do an inspection of the house. We are glad that we did! Andy was very thorough. He crawled around the crawl space, climbed into and inspected the attic, inspected the foundation and basically checked out the whole home. Throughout the process, he would point out things that needed addressing whether major or minor and how to potentially fix them. We ended up not purchasing the home due to some things that came up during the inspection that you wouldn't see without actually getting in there to properly inspect.
A good inspection is worth its weight in good. You need to be informed before you commit as to avoid any surprises.
We will definitely will use Andy & Safe Homes Canada again on the next property that we are looking at purchasing.

We thought we found our waterfront dream home; however thanks to Andrew's expertise he informed us that their was significant foundation cracks that had given the house a wet basement. This finding and his report saved us our life savings.

We later put an offer in on a century home and immediately called Andrew to get his expertise and he identified a significant mould issue that was surrounding the duct work and foundation to the home making it unsafe especially for our newborn baby.

Girlfriend and I we're looking to purchase our first home, we found the perfect place a 1950's bungalow with lots of character. Being an older home I wanted a home inspection to see what we were getting into.

That's when I made the call to Andy. He gave an extremely thorough inspection looking for the key issues that an older home is susceptible too such as vermiculite in the attic and water entry at the foundation. His "real talk" attitude combined with a very detailed write not only saved us thousands at closing time but gave us the peace of mind of what to expect when making such a large commitment.

Andy travelled several hours to complete a home inspection on a farm property with a century home, barns, and outbuildings. He arrived first thing in the morning and spent the next 8 hours systematically inspecting every aspect of the home and outbuildings. He was extremely thorough, checking the foundation, roof, attic, every window, every outlet, every tap, the floors and joists. While he worked he invited us to follow along while he not only checked each item, but provided us with detailed explanations of what he was seeing, why is was good or bad, what we could do in future, how to properly maintain it. He answered every single question and was happy to do it. He had his assistant with him who was also amazing, was very friendly and professional. The report was very detailed. I have worked with several home inspectors over the years and I have never worked with anyone that even comes close to Andy. Yes, it was a lot more money than other inspectors, but every penny was worth it for the time, expertise knowledge and the information you gain from the inspection. You get what you pay for and I can’t say enough good things about Andy. From the findings in his report, we decided to walk away from the purchase, but when we find the next property, we will definitely be having him back. Most other inspectors are a couple hours, look at the roof and attic from the ladder, check a percentage of items in the home...not Andy. He walked over every part of the roof, climbed through every part of the attic, went in the crawl space as much was possible, checked every single item. You won’t be disappointed if you hire him. I will never go with anyone else now that I have found him!

Andy, owner, helped us with our pre-purchase home inspection and Tarion warranty report. While the home was less than a year old, always good to have an expert opinion. Andy was very systematic, starting with the exterior foundation and house envelope. Answered all our questions, while also keeping us on task, following the system, to ensure we did not miss anything. Thoroughly inspected interior structure and crawled through the attic checking insulation depth and pointing out areas where soffits were allowing air to blow insulation away and creating a insulation dead spot. I consider myself a detailed person, and found Andy of like mind. Did not find many opportunities to dig into more detail because Andy already covered it.
