Our first project on the renovations list was to get an open concept kitchen by removing the (load bearing) wall between kitchen and family room. We received several quotes, we even had some contractors telling us the opening was too wide (16 ft) and they couldn't do it without installing a vertical support. However, we contacted Bert and he was very confident to do everything as we wanted, and with the best price. He installed a very sturdy beam, as well as a steel beam in the basement for extra support and peace of mind. He was punctual, came twice to our house from the other part of the city to discuss, and also stopped by when he was in the area a few months after just to see how we were doing!
