De Haas was fantastic from start to completion. Professional and on time but most of all the quality of the product and expertise made the biggest impression. Will recommend every time and continue to work with Nicolas and his team.

We hired Nico de Haas to do some work in our garden. His work was great, his employees hard working and courteous, his cost and time estimates accurate. The guys replaced our backyard grass with flagstones, installed a high steel pole so we could hang our laundry on a line form the second storey, revised our planting boxes and added two new ones, revised the irrigation systems, and installed a new BBQ with benches, storage, and work surfaces. Beautiful work, cleverly done and tastefully finished.

Started this season with DeHaas Landscape Design. The team were very pleasant to work with, thorough, efficient and respectful. They were always there on the days I expected them, and did an amazing job without disturbing the family. They know I am not fond of the leaf blowers and were quick and efficient without making too much noise. My garden, walkways and lawn is doing so much better. They even moved my trampoline every time to cut the grass underneath and made sure my lane and garage were kept tidy. Very pleased with them.

Nico of Dehaas Landscape Design designed and installed a small feature garden including a gurgler fountain in our backyard 2 years ago. We love the design and it looks fantastic! Nico's crew were very professional and took great care in keeping the worksite clean. Recently the flow on our fountain was not working very well and I called Nico. He responded immediately. The fountain simply required some regular maintenance which was arranged for the very same week. I have been very happy with the service and would highly recommend Dehaas Landscape Design!

Nico and his crew did an amazing job to our front yard. They changed my poor lawn into a beautiful garden in two days, I love the layout and my girls are thrilled, they can't wait to see the flowers blooming in the coming spring. He worked on my budget and even did some extra work upon request. I really appreciate it, and would definitely consider working my backyard with DE HAAS again.

Our backyard was in dire need of an upgrade as the prior owners had created a garden with little to no charm or usefulness which took up the entire space. We obtained three quotes based on reviews on Home Stars and met with each contractor. Although we had a vision for the project we were looking for someone with a bit of imagination. We chose De Haas Landscape Design, despite it coming in as the highest quote.

The project had several elements, dirt removal, trench digging, gas line installation, relocation of
paving stones, patio install, building steps and Firepit install. Communication was mostly good, although some steps were built a little out of scope. The final product is beautiful, and I would definitely hire Nico again for other projects.

I'm thankful to have discovered De Haas Landscape Design. Nico is professional, easy to work with - he has a good design sense and knows his plants, particularly ones that will thrive in challenging conditions. But he will also listen to suggestions/requests and go out of his way to locate the perfect specimen. The crew is always pleasant, efficient and tidy - they really make an effort with cleanup, doing the little extras. I wouldn't deal with any other landscape contractor.

I hired De Haas Landscape Design to do a complete tear out and re-do of my front yard last spring.

Nicolas was easy to work with throughout the process. In the design stage he really listened to what my priorities were and to what was on my wishlist. He “got” the esthetic that I was going for, added some great twists, and was really easy to communicate with. When he came back with a proposal it was almost perfect but he was also quite willing to make some tweaks to the plan at my request.

His contract and itemized quote was clear, precise and reasonable, and in the cases where precision was not possible in the quote, he gave me a range and then fell within it. The crew was really lovely: professional, personable, hard working, and most importantly – skilled. The job was finished on time and on budget including my late-stage add-ons.

The best part of it all is my new front yard. We started with an over grown, dark, and neglected space and ended with a bright, low maintenance, functional and beautiful addition to our home. It’s like having a giant new room added on! I loooove my new front yard created by Nico and his team and it seems so does everyone who walks by!

Nico and his team were fantastic. We brought them in to make some landscaping changes to our rooftop deck, and also for annual maintenance. We looked at several options, and he was by far the most professional and cost effective. They were even able to fix the irrigation issues we had. I introduced him to our building management and they took over maintenance of the full building landscaping as well.
