Like most people when looking for a contractor, the first thing I do is check out the review sites; like HomeStars and Trusted Pros. So, I understand how important a good review can be for acquiring new business. The team from CCR Renovations have exceeded all expectations!

I knew the project was not a simple undertaking as it involved removing a support wall, and after watching too many renovation shows, we were terrified of being one of these horror stories!
We picked out five contractors to provide us with estimates. The quality of the estimates varied from truly professional to embarrassing and sketchy. We had one contractor who took an astonishing fifteen minutes to provide an estimate. He walked into the basement took one measurement and famously stated “yeah we can knock that wall out no problem. I know some guys.” Clearly, he did not leave us feeling very confident in his abilities, or who these “guys were.”
However; Matt, from CCR, was by far the most informed and the most professional. He took the time to go over all aspects of the proposed project. Over the hour and a half he spent with us, Matt was very reassuring but also very realistic about issues that may arise and how we could deal with them.

When we decided to go with CCR we felt pretty confident with our decision. Still, knowing it was a big renovation, we were still nervous! However, the team from CCR made us feel much more secure. The contract was 6 pages, outlining every aspect of the renovation. It also listed a payment schedule upon completion of various aspects of the renovation. It listed all the sub trades and scope of work being completed. It listed warranty information and resolutions for any issues that may arise. It covered things that we had never thought about. To say the least, it was very thorough. I had a couple of coworkers and family review the contract, and we all agreed that someone who puts this much attention into the contract is a true professional who you want working for you.

During the whole renovation the guys from CCR; Matt, Stuart and Connor, and the rest of the team were excellent and professional! As we have an almost 2 year old toddler, and another baby on the way throughout the renovation, we were concerned how much chaos there would be in the house. But Matt and the team worked with us and changed their work hours to accommodate our schedule. Every day they were at the house around 8am after we dropped our daughter off at day care, and they would begin to tidy up around 4pm, leaving the house between 430pm and 5pm or earlier. This was a huge stress relief for us as breakfast and dinner were relatively normal. The entire working area was tarped off and sealed to minimize the mess, the guys truly treated our home with respect and care. They took the time to keep things clean, and minimize the construction mess in the house.

As with any renovation there were several changes and extras that were added by us throughout the project. Despite these changes, the team from CCR were great at coming up with ideas and working out solutions with us. Overall, the team from CCR was excellent and I would highly recommend them to anyone I know who is looking for a professional, responsible, and knowledgeable renovation company.
From the initial meeting, to the planning, to the actual work and finally the completed end results, you will be impressed and satisfied.
