Rene was amazing and installed railings for walkway to my powder room and a railing in my garage for my safety after a horrible car accident that has left me with a spinal cord injury. Rene was caring and made me feel comfortable with the renovations in my home. Rene's attention to detail was excellent and I am so happy with the results.

They stayed within the quote, which was reasonable, were honest, communicated extras, reliable, quick and most importantly great quality. Rene and his crew have just completed a total basement renovation in our Beaches home. This included stripping the basement down to the studs, installing a bathroom, laundry room, bedroom and closets. From the outset, Rene’s team were respectful, polite, professional and reliable. Rene responded to a request that I had placed when my contractor cancelled at the last minute. I had less than a week to take down a pantry between my kitchen and dining room. Not only was he quick to respond, he came with his son and gave me a very reasonable quote. That wall was taken down quickly and very efficiently. He cleaned up after the job and I was impressed. He also put me in contact with an electrician in order to move/add electrical switches and to install pendant lighting and he hooked up my sink for a nominal fee. I highly recommend him and his team to get any job done. I will hire him again without hesitation.

I contact Rene based on the reviews on HomeStar. I needed new interior doors installed with european door hardware ( not your typical hardware) and showed him the scope of the job. He provided a professional AND FAIR quote. His crew came and completed the job in 4 visits. Im extremely happy with the results and Royals Basement's professionalism! Would gladly recommend them and will be calling them back to do other task on my Reno!

I had my bathroom renovated by Rene and his team. He provided a detailed written quote and he started on the scheduled day. The tub and bulkhead was removed and replaced by a walk-in shower with new wall and floor tiles. Rene is very professional from start to finish, making sure that every step is properly done paying close attention to detail.
We are very pleased with the results and would not hesitate recommend him to anyone. I will be considering him for my next renovation project.

All in all our experience with Rene and his team was very good.

The (winter) project involved demolishing the existing 600-700 square foot basement in our 1970 sidesplit and building a 3-piece bathroom, office/bedroom, rec room, pantry, and laundry room. We had potlights installed in all rooms but the pantry, eight doors (including a pocket door and a door to crawlspace), built-in shelving in the pantry and a single flight of stairs. Rene's team also fixed a leak in the basement wall and some damaged concrete in the garage next to the basement.

The quote from Royal Basements was a bit lower than some others we got, but we chose them partly because Rene sketched out a floor plan on the spot during the initial consultation. That allowed us to go through a list of "what ifs?" Some smaller things like standard 5" baseboards and oak stairs helped.

What we appreciated the most about Rene was his flexibility and problem solving. He came up with a number of creative solutions that we think greatly improved the initial design.

We also really liked that they let us keep our washer and dryer in the basement throughout. We were able to resume doing our laundry pretty soon after they started.
