We had our main washroom renovated a couple of years ago and the previous contractor we hired installed an exhaust fan above our shower but did not connect it to its own roof vent. Rather, they connected it to an existing vent 10 feet away via a long, uninsulated hose. This caused excessive moisture above the shower and the paint kept peeling off the ceiling.

We had to re-install the hose for an adjacent vent as well since it wasn't done correctly by the previous installer.
