RUUD HVAC & Tankless Rinnai installation

Although ours is the middle unit in a row of houses, our energy consumption had been greater than it should have been, and yet we were rarely comfortable. After several years of putting up with a second floor that was too hot in summer and too cold in winter, we were encouraged by a raft of government energy rebate programs to begin looking at our options for improving the energy efficiency of our home.
After discussing our options with a number of HVAC contractors, all of whom were friendly, knowledgeable people whose opinions and recommendations were very similar to one another, we decided to go with Richard Payer from Coretemp.
Two things set him apart. First his knowledge, passion and commitment to his work was uniquely evident. Second, his fervent enthusiasm for the Ruud three stage modulating furnace also distinguished him from the other HVAC consultants we had spoken with, all of whom had recommended two stage furnaces.
Richard was going to be on the job, ensuring that what he had promised, would get done. His problem solving skills, attention to detail and responsible attitude – we are happy to report – were all well proven on our job. And it should be noted that his guys, Chris and Jason are both conscientious tradesmen in their own rights.
Our house is always comfortable now. The UGFD Ultra Series 90 Plus High Efficiency Modulating Furnace and its thermostat supply an evenness of temperature throughout our house that we had never really expected, and we rarely notice it is on, it’s that quiet. The furnace also has a humidifier and superb dust filter that greatly improve the air quality and comfort level through the cold, dry months of winter.
The Rinnai tankless hot water heater is also a very welcome addition to our home. First, the water is clean. No more sludge build up as in a tank. Second, it’s hot water on demand, so no more need to keep 40 gallons of water heated. It is somewhat slower to deliver hot water at the tap, but not unacceptably slower. We never need worry about running out of hot water and it is capable of delivering hot water to the kitchen sink at the same time as someone is showering, without much of a drop in pressure.
Thanks Richard!
