Install new boiler, new hot water tank and re-connect basement heating

I decided to use JJ for installing my new heating system because of the great reviews from HomeStars and the helpful options the estimator gave me. It was to be a 3 day project. In the first day , a crew of 4 turned up and they worked a full day. They were going to return the next day to finish off the hot water tank but only 1 person showed up did as much as he could. On the third day, the crew turned up at 5 PM (supposed to be noon) and worked till 10 PM to get us hot water. They returned the following Tuesday to finish off the work. Unfortunately, the installation did not pass the city's safety inspection. Another appointment was made for JJ to correct the deficiencies but the crew did not show up. Eventually the problems were corrected the following day and passed the safety inspection. The whole thing took over 2 weeks to complete. It was rather frustrating for me because I had to keep reorganizing my day each time they did not show up. However, once the crew showed up, they were very professional, friendly and worked very hard. Their work was tidy and kept damage to the basement wall to a minimum. They cleaned the carpet before they left which was good. The heating system is working well. In summary, JJ would have got a much better review if they had been more punctual.

Company Response

Hey Michael, Thank you for taking the time to write us a review, I appreciate the honest review as it helps us to learn from previous mistakes and how to improve for future customers. I do sincerely apologize that I had to take a few guys off of the second day for emergency calls and that I was not personally involved more on this project for I was busy on the extreme home makeover volunteer project for a family in need around the same timeline and probably had a little too much of my time devoted to this project. The project was originally discussed to take from Tuesday to Friday, and was completed and ready for inspection. I do sincerely apologize for us being late on day 3 for as you know we were stuck on an emergency call for a building that had flooded. It is my understanding that whether it was one of the guys working on the Job or myself personally, that you were made aware of tardiness prior to us arriving late everytime. As for the failed inspection, even though it was for very minor things, like cobwebs in the cold air intake, I do take full responsibility for us not triple checking everything with a fine tooth comb to ensure that you did not have to endure the frustration of having to wait the additional week for the second inspection to be completed. I do sincerely apologize for the frustration you had to endure, unfortunately this is the busy season and clearly we have taken on too many projects in too short of a time line and need to begin hiring atleast 2 more plumbers to help with our current work load to ensure that future customers do not have to go through the same frustrations that you did. I am happy to see that the shampooing of the carpet was appreciated, however you still should not have had to endure the frustrations that you did and we SINCERELY apologize for this. I do however appreciate your understanding with me through our discussions and that you handled the situations very well given the circumstances and I really appreciate your professionalism and understanding as well!

I also REALLY appreciate the honest feedback as this was quite the reality check for us as well. Have a great day Michael, I will be in touch soon to discuss everything with you further.
