The Oak Stair limited located in Vaughan has made my experience in owning stairs a confusing and difficult one. The contracts that are written by the vendor (the oak stair) are vague and can be misconstrued by the vendor, as was the case with my purchase. The old days of honest and straight up information are gone with this company. The salesperson that I worked with was Lorenzo Jr. and it is a family run business. The decision to go with the oak stair limited was based on some referral from contractors who have dealt with Frank the father and owner. After closing the deal with this company it became apparent that when it and to being paid the company wanted 50% of the money up front and the rest on delivery no matter what mistakes or issues could occur. It was what sounded like a fair offer until a mistake was made on the final balance owing. In which case threats of "you don't know who you are dealing with". I will [email protected]&$) you up if you don't pay" " rip out the stairs now". All of this after a mistake of a few dollars. What the experience ended up being was a as a consumer feeling threatened and taken advantage of. The price seemed well priced until it came time to stain the stair at which point it was made apparent that the materials used were not stain grade material. I have now no other choice to paint the stairs, which is not what I anticipated doing or the other option is to have it all re done at a cost responsible by me. Fryer investigating through other vendors and more referrals from other contractors is that the oak stair has taken negative turn to the quality of their contract transparency and humane customers service. What has happened to me I wish on no person who is building a new home for a new family. What this company is now known for is poor service on the part of the salesperson and lack of contractual transparency. Please be advised that everything you are looking for and planning on doing should be laid out in the contract. This company will no longer be receiving a referral from me. For the record the salesman also firmly said that he does not need my referral=pretentious and arrogant.
