Rude Obnoxious staff at Habitat for Humanity Burlington

I cut my hand accidentally while shopping here this Saturday and since the bleeding did not stop I approached the staff to get first aid. I was sent to an area at the back where my injury was attended to.
On my way back to the main store area I was accosted by a grouchy old bearded man with glasses who very rudely asked me "what do you think you're doing here" in a very accusatory manner. When I explained I was injured while shopping he didn't bother to apologize for his rude accusatory manner of talking - shameful behaviour for someone working at a place like this where most work for a good cause. Perhaps he should learn from his younger colleagues how to be polite to customers or better still chose another line of work instead of tarnishing the reputation of habitat for humanity.

Laminate flooring

I understand they are a charity and do good work, but often their prices are very close to retail, and when I asked the clerk at the counter, she said items were final sale. I think they forget that so many families are struggling in the current economy and many of us are trying to find creative ways to make our dollars go farther. I am a single mom of 2 who was working 2 jobs and got downsized out of one of them. I often leave the store with a bad taste in my mouth because even though I search out cost effective ways to maintain my home out of necessity, I end up leaving empty handed because I still can't afford the prices they're asking for DONATED, often previously used/reclaimed materials. It's a shame they don't embrace the opportunity to help many who are in the broader community around them by being even just a little more conscious of the financial climate when they're doing their pricing.

Door with hardware

We bought a pre-hung exterior door with hardware installed for $350. A carpenter installed it for $150, at which time he and we noticed that the Weiser thumb latch was inoperable. So, I contacted Weiser customer service to find out what to do and they said it was the retailers responsibility. Next, was to go back to RESTORE, where I was informed that the policy was to remove hardware from doors (mine wasn't and there was another door/hardware set sold at back). Further, they had no responsibility about the hardware as it was not meant to operate. They might give me a discount on a new hardware set, but sadly, since they do not stock , there wasn't a suitable set. Would they give me a discount coupon to be used later....'NO'! Briefly, we bought in good faith, were not informed of their 'policies' and got a SSTB response. My money is not a 'volunteer' and I expect better customer service.

Paint supplied for painting the bathroom

I had a small bathroom renovation to do. We called it the purple bathroom project. We looked at a couple stores ad found the prices to be generally high for typical stores. We headed over to the burlington restores and found the paint we needed. For a project this small, 1 bucket of paint was enough. Wallpaper was $5 and we got all supplies and paint for just $100. No negotiation though.
