Alligator Party Rentals

I contacted alligator party rentals for a 50th birthday party. They told me they were located 10 minutes from where I was throwing the party. That was the first disappointment . I am from Los Angeles and didn't know the city . I had to take a taxi across town to pay them as I was paying cash. It took 1/2 hour via taxi to get to their location and 45 minutes on the way home. The taxi cost was over 100.00!

The day of the party they sent the wrong color for some items.I called alligator rentals immediately upon discovering they sent me green balloons and not black as was the color I ordered online and in person. They told me to go to Balloons on Bloor as alligator party rentals didn't have black balloons.

I took a taxi to baloons on bloor in heavy Saturday traffic while the staff I hired to help me set up and blow the balloons up waited for an hour &1/2 to return with black balloons. What a stressful and inconvenient thing to do right before all the guests were to arrive.

After the party , the staff took everything down and repackaged the rental items except for a brown cardboard votive holder box that was all beat up and a paper garment bag that a table skirt came in. There was also one small plastic tablecloth clip that was missing.

on Monday,I called and spoke to 2 different men to explain the balloon mess up and neither was accepting responsibility for their mistake of not double checking the rental items before they were delivered. To add insult to injury they said "There is a lot of stuff missing" I asked what and they said the box for the votives, the paper garment bag and one plastic clip for the table skirt. They said they were not going to credit me for the wrong colored balloons and they were charging my charge card almost 80.00 for the 3 items they didn't receive back. I asked my staff to look for these missing items and we found them right by all the other things they picked up. I personally rented a car and drove back to their location to return these items. They were rude, argumentative and unprofessional. They did not refund the price for the black balloons, my cab ride all over Toronto or offer any compensation for the stress and inconvenience their mistake caused me.

I asked them for an itemized list of their replacement costs for the items I rented and they replied that there are too many items to have to list so they didn't have one. I said, the rental price list is already the detailed list they could use as it was already on the internet and order forms. They argued and said they decided themselves what the replacement cost should be. I took photos of the three items I returned that they were trying to arbitrarily charge me a crazy price for . I showed other event planners and they too were horrified by their lack of professionalism.
I will never use alligator party rentals for anything. Very bad unpleasant business experience and NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL. Beware of returning the items and being charged additional random unjustified fees.
