Interior Painting

TRD Contracting is by far, the absolute worst contractor you could find. I strongly recommend to anyone who reads this, DO NOT deal with them at all. Mike is a terrible contractor in every respect. I wish I read these posts about him before I agreed to let him go anywhere near my house. He is the most unprofessional person I have ever met. \ PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM MIKE AND TRD CONTRACTING!!!!!

Basement Finishing

It is the worst contractor experience I have ever had. Mike never keeps his words. Whatever he says is full of BS and excuses. You will find out as soon as his own words contradict to what he said before. And when he says thing will happen, the chance is 50% or less. When he says he will try it or he might be able to it, the chance is ZERO.

Project comes with surprise after surprise, and keeps being delayed without any updates or feeling sorry. Lot of these are because of his poor organization. Believe or not, the number of days his team actually came to work is less than the waiting days in the 2+ months period (yes, it has been over 2 months since started) while original "promise" is to finish within 4-6 weeks.
Imagine you are sitting home everyday hoping and praying for your contractor to show up (as I said no communication if they will show up).

The ONLY times he showed up without chasing were to get the installments ($$$). Ok, if the quality is good, I can at least try to justify the delay, but the craftsmanship is just ok and some are sub par quality, including the simple paint job. I think a lot of it is due to the rush schedule his team is trying to fit between jobs. As mentioned, the wait time is more than actual working time after numerous follow up calls. Then, they would show up just to rush something AND ask for the next payment. What makes it even a joke is that Mike keeps saying how professional the job is from day 1 !!! He thought his clients are fool and know nothing.

Communication is close to zero, you will hardly know what his team or his subcontractors will do next until it happens. So, it is full of surprises and shocks all along. Sometimes, jobs from different subcontractors could be done in wrong sequence. E.g. flooring can be done in the middle of the project, drywall was finished before all wiring and piping is done.

If you are detail oriented, you would either want to kill yourself or kill him as he will hardly remember 30% of what you told him numerous times or what he promised, and missed it at the end. Lot of time, it is not something changeable after the facts. Would I refer him to someone? Yes, to my enemies or someone who wants to learn to be a foreman himself, as you will have to constantly monitor the job and remind what are missed, and hope they can fix before it is too late.

Conclusion, if you want headaches, stresses and heart attack, go ahead and get this company to do your job. You won’t be surprised!

Kitchen renovation, cupboards and countertop

Mike of Trd was recommended in July 2008, I saw a home that he supposedly renovated, now I am begining to wonder. The moulding in my kitchen has now separated, one of the cupboard doors fell off, when we checked it there was only one screw, and 2 other doors have only one screw. Handles on cupboards are uneven and pen marks have be left where he should have put handles. He has never come back to to finishing touches. There are some place were you can still see raw wood, my kitchen is antique white. Where the ceiling mouldings are joined whatever he put in to hide it they have now separated, I had someone look at it and the said that it was not cut to be joined, just a straight cut and pushed together. One of my cabinets on the wall was not screwed completely into the wall. When we spoke to him about it he was very billegerent and rude to my husband. I would like to know if there are asscoiations out there that will come to my home and take a look so that this does not happend to anyone else.

kitchen renovation

we were refered to TRD Contracting, Mike, from a friend whom he was doing work for. He dosent show up for a week at a time, the project is weeks behind schedule, he is very agressive and yeld at me when i wouldnt pay him the rest of the money becuase he hadnt finished. Our firend is in the same position, he has yet to finish their work, wont return calls, and we have heard now in some trouble with the government. The whole thing has been terribly upsetting, Mike is just not the person he sold himself as. Unreliable, untruthful, and just overall a terrible contractor.
