I had the basement dug out after the Toronto flood last summer (2013). It was a huge project and dragged on forever, and I wasn't thrilled with the company that did the initial work (ascot). I wasn't happy with any of the ridiculous quotes I was getting from finishing guys either.
I found The Home Improvement People on Homestars and they were super quick to respond and match my best quote.
They were super respectful and professional. The costs didn't inflate, the only thing that ended up being extra was the electrical (it was a disaster in the ceiling from previous owner..not their fault).
Any time there might have been an additional cost it was brought to my attention first and I was given the choice. Mike is who I dealt with, and he has hands down been my favourite contractor to deal with, ever. Extremely straight forward and no b.s.
They finished things on time and came back to finish up every last bit.
I highly recommend these guys. I would hire them again for any major reno.
They did a thorough and amazing job. Super straight forward people.
