David and his company did an excellent job on our house. David sat down with us and explained the work that would be done and how much it would cost. The work was completed on time and we are in love with the new design it really makes a huge difference in the appearance of our house. We are so satisfy with the job we have asked him to redesign the front yard to match how great the exterior of our house looks.

We had researched several companies on HomeStars who could repair some existing stucco and add stucco to the sides and back of our home. Can't say enough about the quality of the job! We are extremely pleased with the work that was done and would not hesitate to recommend Exterior by Design Stucco and Stone Inc. to anyone. We contacted David and his team for an updated look on our 1950s home in North York.
David and William arrived promptly and after listening to what we wanted gave us a quote that same evening.
We added a front porch above the entrance stairs, stone cladding and stucco on the front of the house and stucco trims around the sides and back of the house, front and back potlights as well as some other electrical work.
We are delighted with the results: the house looks precious, luxurious even, it's now the most beautiful on the street.
The crews employed by David were all very professional: they took the time to explain what they were doing, listened to our suggestions and accommodated our requests for changes. William, who was managing the day to day work was always available and his standard answer to our requests was: "Anything can be done. Let's see exactly what you want to see how we can best do it"; his suggestions and ideas were spot-on and well thought.
We plan to contract them again for some further work.

When David’s team finished their work on our house, the superb quality of their workmanship was in full display. Their careful choice of materials, their helpful recommendations complementing our design ensured the final result of the project was the beautiful exterior of our house. We thought we couldn’t be happier.
But now, four years later, we realized how lucky indeed we were finding them: New exterior looking good is one thing. Four year old exterior looking as new in our area of big old trees and abundant wildlife is up a notch from that. Small branches falling off trees and hitting walls. Birds trying to nest. Woodpeckers trying to feed. And no scratch on our stucco!
In the first summer of the new exterior, I heard some knocking in my second floor study. Didn’t really pay attention to it on the first day. On the second, I identified it coming from an outside wall. As the intermittent knocking persisted that day, I then went outside to explore. And found a midsize woodpecker outside drumming on the wall of my study. Scared it off. But the next day, I heard the sound again! That time, I already knew what to do. As I got out, the bird was drumming on the same spot +/- a couple of inches. So, I shooed it away, again. In a few days, the procedure had to be repeated.
The amazing conclusion of this story is that all that woodpecker activity left not as little as a mark on the paint, not to mention the stucco surface being totally intact!
Another area where Stucco By Design stands out is their relationship with the customers. It seems to be the opposite of the ‘hit and run’ behaviour of your normal contractor. In the years after the completion of the project, I noticed David coming to the house with his managers two or three times. And I don’t spend a lot of time in my front yard. It’s possible he’s actually visited more. So, it feels our stucco is under regular supervision.
The bottom line is Stucco By Design appears to be an outstanding business both in the quality of their construction and the customer service attitude. I’m very glad for its future customers.

David and his crew is a professional team. They did my porch and with the good advice of David we had redone the outside of our house half stucco and half stone. Our house really stands out in the neighborhood and we had received lots of praise from our relatives and neighbors alike.

We hired Exterior by Design to replace all our windows and aluminum siding on the entire house. We chose to install stucco with new moldings around the windows and doors, and three feet of stone veneer around the bottom. David and William provided help with the design and managed the project in a professional manner. The tradesmen came on time every day and kept our property clean. The house is a lot quieter now, we can't hear any of the outside noise at all. We are impressed and highly recommend this company.
