furnace & AC

Very disappointment in their ability to diagnose problem. Time spent and wasted on unnecessary items. Horrible slow service very costly for service visit and never even resolved our issue. DO not recommend. Very disappointing to wait days and days for service call and no resolution.

They answer the phone, but thats about it

LB replaced the igniter on our furnace at what seemed like a standard price. Just over a month later it burnt out at night when it was -5 outside. I called them and got through right away. I was told someone would call me back to arrange an emergency visit. I waited 40 min, no call back. I called back and was told that a 'higher up' would call me soon. No call back. I called a third time after waiting an hour. Again I was told that someone would call. And a fourth time. I eventually gave up and went to sleep (at 2am). woke up at 7, no missed calls. called again at 730, was told that they needed to check the schedule and would call me back to let me know when someone would be available. I waited an hour, got no call back and called another company who had someone over in 20 min. He told me that the igniter burnt out and I should call the people who installed it and find out if they warranty their work. So I call LB one more time and am told that they could replace the igniter but it would take a few days and there probably isn't even anyone who can come take a look at the furnace today anyway but she will check and give me a call back...

Complete Home Reno

We recently completed a full home reno and replaced our furnace, HWT and A/C. Ted and his team were very honest and concise and always provided different options and solutions to suit the situation. LB is a great, local family business and I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

Oil to Gas Conversion and New Furnace Installation

Truly a Great company! Over the past 15 years, LB have always provided excellent advice and service for me and my family. I will recommend them to others and I will certainly use their services again. They will treat you right and do the job right. Thanks very much to everyone!

replace gas furnace and central air conditioner

During a service call to perform annual maintenance on our furnace, Alberto of LB Heating and Air Conditioning noticed some problems in our 10-year old furnace caused by our 10-year old AC. Ted offered options and we decided to replace both units. The installations were done in a day efficiently and professionally. We look forward to enjoying the upgraded appliances and the energy savings.

Oil Furnace Removal, Gas boiler/water combi installation, new Pipeing and Radiators

We replaced the oil furnace and the Electric Water heater with a Viessmann Vitodens 100 boiler plus DHW with CombiPLUS Kit
In addition we removed the old piping, relocated retro-cast Iron Radiators in the basement and installed 3 new European-style radiators in the upper floor
L&B Heating did an excellent job from the start to the end of the project.
During the initial planning Ted provided all the guidelines and helped us to understand the pro and cons of various solutions.
Then the team took care of everything and did a great job.
Everyone was helpful and friendly. The removal and installation went very smoothly.

We are very satisfied with the results and would highly recommend LB Heating to anyone.
It has been a pleasure to deal with Ted and his team.

Gas boiler/water combi installation

We had a terrible experience with our boiler just a few weeks ago (January 2016) and had no heating for a week. We brought in 3 companies to quote on our boiler replacement and LB Heating & AC was one of them. LB Heating & AC gave us the most straightforward options, were knowledgeable about what they do and did not try to upsell us on anything we didn't need. We dealt with Ted and he came out to our house 3 evenings in a row to answer our questions - even before we had given him the job. LB Heating & AC was able to come in within 2 days to install and worked quickly and efficiently. Their guys were professional and completed the job on a Friday and half day on Saturday just to make sure our heat went on. Then they came back as promised on Monday to remove the old boiler and check that everything was working. And our salesman Ted came back to inspect the work his team did and make sure everything was working well after installation.
We would recommend LB Heating & AC and would hire them again anytime.

Furnace repair

I called LB heating and air-conditioning because they were the company the previous owners had used. My house is currently under renovation and the boiler had shut off for an unknown reason. The technician they sent was very rude to me and would not answer my questions right away. He spoke down to me and kept asking if my husband was around so he could explain how the furnace works...like me as a woman could not understand the mechanics. He told me that multiple things on my boiler would need replacing and that I would have to drain my entire system. I had told him that I was getting an HVAC specialist to redo all my pipes in a couple of days and he still drew out the service call even though the safety switch was tripped by the construction. I later discussed what happened with the HVAC specialist and the safety was tripped by a negative airflow in the basement redirecting exhaust fumes. It was a very simple problem with simple solution. It took him three minutes to explain this to me and it took the technician 1.5 hours plus a diagnosis for more work. I called to complain after and the owner was very defensive and justified the technicians behaviour as being a consequence of his age and upbringing. Not acceptable. Needless to say I would not recommend this company

This type of review is always hard to respond to when it leaves more questions than answers.
First, this reviewer had the very same service tech that she claims was sexist to her only 90 days prior for another isolated service call. During this first call, she received him, had him replace a faulty gas valve, and paid him without comment or criticism. In fact, she was glad that when she called back 90 days later that he could return on the Friday after hours at her convenience. Why was there no concern or complaint then? Why didn't she ask for someone else?
Second, the service technician who is a 73 year old with a heavy Spanish accent spent 1 hour and 30 minutes in her home without one complaint at the time of the second call. Why would someone allow a service tech in their house for an hour an half while the tech was treating you with such disrespect? Indeed, why did you pay for the service at all if you felt so slighted and angry?
Third, when the reviewer contacted the office to express herself on the following Monday, management tried to explain what the procedure the service tech took, the rationale and our legal and liable responsibilities are when we find a draft safety spill switch has been opened. During this call, the reviewer admitted that as part of a recent renovation project, she had prior to the disputed service call hired another HVAC contractor to replace her HVAC system. Why didn't she call her new HVAC contractor on the previous Friday after hours to perform a service call?
Fourth, the total service call in dispute only cost $150 + HST. Why does the reviewer resort to misrepresentation by claiming the amount was $1000?
Unfortunately, we can't read people's minds to find answers and we can't always agree with people's logic. We do hope that the reviewer is happy with her new HVAC system and new contractor.
Note: all of the above statements can be proven with signed and paid invoices by the reviewer herself.

LB Heating & Air Conditioning installed the previous boiler in 1996 and in the 10 years I've lived here it has worked reliably. LB Heating & Air Conditioning provided good advice and service over the years. While it might have run trouble free for another 5-10 years it was finally time to modernize and LB Heating & Air Conditioning was able to get the work done the same week.

It was great to have the same installer return almost 20 years later to replace the old system he installed with a modern efficient unit. The quality of the install and attention to detail is amazing.

Premium customer service and peace of mind knowing they'll be there to fix any problems is why I ultimately went with LB Heating & Air Conditioning.

Furnace and Water Heater Installation

We received 4 quotes for a furnace and water heater installation. L&B gave a competitive quote, while also thinking of better ways to do the installation. They vented into our internal chimney for the water heater which saved us money. They found a way of getting the proper amount of clearance needed to install the furnace which didn't require more expensive building works. The installer - which we are happy with - could have checked the solution with us before doing it differently than was on the work order - but in the end, it was an ingenious solution and we're very happy with it.
