Knight Plumbing, Heating And Air Conditioning Ltd

Had a furnace fail late night and made the call to Knight Heater and Plumbing (also go by AAA-Assured Plumning and Heating Ltd.)

Call made 11pm so we were quoted $179 call-out charge plus $260 per hour (regular rate is $130/hr). Tech arrived onsite, didn’t have all the parts to repair the issue so 3 hours later (2am) they dropped us a couple heaters and said to call back for second call-out during the day.

Called back at 8am, explained to dispatch that the home has no heat (it’s -15C outside) and they tell me the repair will happen this afternoon. At 7pm next day the valve in question was replaced and the system is now functional.

My personal review:
-Technician was polite and we are grateful they dispatched in the middle of the night. He answered all calls and texts promptly.
-timeline to fix the issue was too long imho, 24 hours without heat was a lot handle, if we knew this we would have looked at other options.
-we understand you pay a lot for after hours calls, $1100 charged in 3hrs (including heater rental) was steep considering there was no repair done. $260/hr plus $179 fee.

Overall we are just thankful the home has heat. You are always in a bind as a consumer when emergency repairs need to be done.

I called early morning when I realized the hot water tank was leaking and was advised to turn the tap off on the tank and to call back in an hour and avoid the after hours rate. They came out within an hour of my call. Dan was very pleasant and knowledgeable. He explained what needed to be done and got started right away. Dave was also very pleasant and quickly assisted Dan as well as upgraded the venting to code. They left the basement tidy, wore their booties and seemed to have the job completed in no time. I would definitely recommend Knight and use them in the future. (btw, I can't be the only one who finds those Pete the Plumber commercials offensive!!! Can bet if I had young girls at home I would NOT be inviting that guy into the house!!! ) Just sayin...

I required my main water shut off valve in my house to be changed to a new one , they were on time, very thorough, helpful and did the job very well.

Call for service was answered with "good morning, how can we make you smile today". Arranged a service call and it was determined that a new furnace was required. Kevin, the service man did a great jib doing the installation.

When I needed a plumber for my kitchen sink and pipes I called Knight Plumbing. When Sherry answered and was so pleasant and helpful I decided this was the plumber for me. Jason came as soon as the time was good for me and after an hour and half he had replaced my pipes so I wouldn't have the same problem for a third time and made sure everything was working properly. Jason was very friendly, made sure I knew what was needed and the cost prior to work being done and did the work fast and cleanly. Thank you Sherry and Jason I will definitely refer you to others and call you anytime I need plumbing done in the future

Kevin the technician is very nice, knowlegeable. He smiles a lot as well, he explain what was the problem with the furnace and fix it very well. I highly recommend him to my friends and his company as well

This review is for two separate experiences. The first was a couple of weeks ago when we came home from work to no heat. We called a couple plumbing companies but Knight was the only one with someone available that evening. The customer service on the phone was great and Kevin was our technician. He was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. Within a couple hours he had the heat back on in our house! We promptly cancelled a humidifier install with a competitor and booked with Knight.

The second experience was with the install of the new humidifier. Geoff came out and did a great job. He found errors with the set up of our thermostat and promptly fixed them. He was also very personable and I was happy to have him working on our furnace!

We have been extremely happy with our experiences with Knight and will recommend them to anyone looking for work on their furnace.

After a carbon monoxide scare at my mom’s townhouse where the detectors went off and fire department was called, it was deemed that the furnace was no longer to code and could not continue to operate. My brother called Knight and George came out that evening at around eight and looked at the problem and said definitely a new furnace was needed. The following Monday an employee dropped off heaters so we wouldn’t be frrezing and the water was turned on. George came back on Thursday and spent from just before noon to about ten o’clock that night installing everything. I appreciate that they put floor protectors down and they were very patient with our golden retriever who insisted on hanging out down there to supervise. The only problem was that George found that the wires for the thermostat were stapled and couldn’t be taken off which meant we were out anther almost $500 to install a wireless one. I think just because of how much things had already cost this was w hard pill to swallow but nothing could really be done and we went ahead with the work. Everything looks really good and there’s now a new more efficient furnace and water tank which is really good. The workers were friendly, George communicated well to tell us what was happening and worked hard to get it all ready.

Our hot water tank stopped working on a Friday afternoon, after searching online for reputable companies to call, my first call was to Knight. They let me know they could come by on Monday (I am too cheap to pay the extra evening/weekend fee!!). Other places either gave me a date of Wed, or didn't have as high a rating on Google, which I checked each place I called. So I called Knight back and scheduled someone to come on Monday. They came within the timeframe they gave me which was really great. Dan came to the door, was super friendly and personable right off the bat. He took a look at the problem and confirmed...yup, it isn't working...after a short visit he concluded he would need to order the part, and is hoping to have it arrive by Wednesday. The next day Ingot a call telling me the part was already in and we scheduled a time On Wed to have it repaired. It was really awesome that they fixed it so quickly!!! Dan was really great to work with, explained what was happening, and was very trustworthy - sadly that seems to be a rarity these days. At no time did he try to sell me more than what I required, which was also refreshing. I definitely will use Knight going forward, and highly recommend them - give them a call you won't regret it!! Thanks Dan and Knight....you all are fantastic!!

Geoff and his apprentice were very professional and pleasant as they set up my Ecobee4. They checked my furnace, humidifier and set up my new thermostat. Excellent service... I would highly recommend them!
