Kitchen Design and Installation in Dunbar

We wanted to hire Kitchencraft for project but not available so hired Pacific Rim Cabinets. 2007 installation. Many design issues had to be corrected as it was design person's first kitchen for PacRim. Customer service was great but designer's knowledge was limited. We had to adjust design by making significant costly layout changes that would have been avoided with better designer. Cabinet drawers have not stood the test of time. The glides and support rails of the heavy duty drawers designed to hold dinnerware and everyday tableware and pots have collapsed in 2010 and repeated requests by phone and letter to PacRim went unanswered and not repaired despite guarantee in effect. Veneer is peeling off the stove hood canopy since 2009 and cannot be repaired according to our carpenter who builds cabinets. PacRim has never replied to requests for repairs since 2009, for a kitchen installed in 2007 under a 10 year warranty. Our carpenter called PAC Rim to get more of the custom stain but again, no response. We had to go to a 3rd party custom stain supplier to get more wood stain to match to finish woodwork trim and doors.
The kitchen is gorgeous, a real show stopper. That is due in large part to me persevering with the designer. Glass front cabinets arrived with solid fronts so I just gave up and accepted the solid fronts. Drawer fronts were drilled incorrectly for the drawer pulls and had to be redone THREE times. A section of cabinets for the lower level entry arrived in an almost- black stain, not the custom stain and the wrong wood. these were all replaced and are now perfect but it was another error that had to be discussed, ripped out, and replaced. The result is that the cabinets we needed for the rest of our project were made by a carpenter, not by PAC Rim. The kitchen is gorgeous but a home buyer will want the veneer repaired and it cannot be repaired. We are hiring an Ikea installer to repair the drawer glides because other kitchen cabinet suppliers cannot provide the PacRim drawer glides that are most similar to the Ikea kitchen base cabinet drawer and glides.

Approximate cost of services:
