I contacted 4-star electric for a quote as a few smaller contractors had a tough time determining a quote as well as a time frame to complete the work I required (main floor level reno). Although I had a budget in mind, the time frame and quality of work were most important to me as this house was built in the 70's and the wiring was questionable. I sent a request on Sunday online through their website and was called within a few hours which really surprised me because most companies will respond during the week for appointments. Regardless they had someone to come out the next day for an estimate. Scott C. was the estimator who came out to do the estimate, and we went from requiring wiring on one floor to getting the entire house done. He did give me the option to cut things out if I wanted to decrease the coat of the work being done. He informed me that it was a big project and they he would have to get back me by no layer than the next day. I was again surprised that he got back to me within 2 hours. After reviewing the estimate and also comparing with the smaller contractors, I decided to go with 4-star electric. I was already receiving prompt service (a couple other contractors had taken about a week to get back to me just for an estimate), and the time frame was very reasonable as most of our renovations were held back due to the electrical wiring that needed to be dealt with. Needless to say the amount of work that was done was great (keep in mind we just got the rough in part done...the finished install will occur once WE (the homeowners) are done our renos and need them to come out to finish installing all of the new lighting!! Knowing that I could get everything roughed in first so we can finish our renovations was a HUGE relief because we don't have to worry about damaging all of our new lighting while still renovating. While they were doing their work, we were still able to work with them or around them at the same time. Their punctuality to arrive at our house and how accommodating they were when we needed to get something done next to or around them made it easy for us to work together. I of all people understand how electrical work can be costly, and looking around for a company that would do the work within a reasonable time frame, complete the work to the most up to date codes, and without overcharging you, can be difficult BUT I took a chance, thought the risk of paying $65.00 for a bigger company to give me an estimate was totally worth it! I did not even pay the cost of the estimate as I hired them to do the work. I initially thought the work was easy and couldn't understand why they needed a week but looking at it now, I see the job was done fast and done right. I highly recommend them for anyone looking for a reliable electrician company. This company definitely gave me their trust and peace of mind. Keep in mind the light fixtures (aka pot lights for my home) are included in the price so you dont have to go out and stress out about choosing one yourself. They will show you the ones they have and can install in your home with no extra charges. I may have another update once all of the finished work is completed to either re-emphasize their great work (which will most likely be the case) or a new experience. ~M~
