The process of custom building an home by this company was unpleasant and I would never want to go thru this again. Requests were sometimes ignored or done incorrectly.

Workmanship and quality was questionable to say the least. Venting and honest feedback was frowned upon. I felt ignored and mistreated. Very little accountability for mistakes done at own discretion. -ie placement of door handles and electrical outlets.

We recently completed a main floor/basement renovation ( new kitchen, custom cabinets, flooring, main floor office, expansion of mudroom, custom lockers, finished basement and more ) with Homes By Us and they were AMAZING!!! They came in on time, on budget and provided a superb quality experience. We even got to work with their designer to create our new spaces. They really took the time to understand our current issues and learn how our family wanted to use the space. They made many recommendations that improved the overall space tremendously. I would highly recommend using Homes By Us for any of your renovation needs.

We just took possession of our new home and we couldn’t be happier. From our initial meeting to when we received the keys last Friday, homes by us has more than delivered on their promise to build a beautiful home for our family. I had heard stories from others about how building can be stressful and how things go wrong but our experience was all positive. The initial meetings, choosing the home and settling a contract were fun and exciting for us. The process of building through their design centre was also excellent, they gave us so much time and care and were brilliant at guiding our decisions so the house achieved a real consistent design flow. They worked with us and didn’t just take orders, they gave us advice and direction. We had some ideas about a basement bar and media space for example but with their help we got a dream bar and media room instead! The whole house is better than we imagined and we couldn’t be happier. And all of this delivered well ahead of our expected possession date .
Now that’s it finished we’re almost sad it’s over and will definitely miss working with them. Very much recommend this company!

We moved into our home almost 2 years ago and love it. This is the second home we built in the area and the first with Homes By Us; what a difference! HBU is a family run business and they are all great to deal with. We were able to revise one of their plans to suit our needs. All the trades seem to do a great job during construction. The finishes are very nice. Our home was delivered on time. After moving in, they checked in every month for the first year to address service items and even helped out on a few items that stretched past a year - they resolved every item that came up. We would recommend them as a home builder.

We built an estate home in 2016 with Homes By Us in Aspen Woods, Calgary. Overall, our experience was tremendous and the final product looks and feels like a show home. They can easily modify floor plans of one of their model custom homes, as we did, or design a home from scratch based on your needs and wishes. The build quality and finishes were excellent, and included as many sessions as needed with a design consultant to help with selections at no additional cost. We can't stress how important this was in building a home with great design elements.

Homes by US has several qualities that makes this home builder a cut above the rest: 1. They are very good at scheduling trades. Our home was built on time and since we’ve moved in we’ve witnessed tradesmen at construction sites starting at 7 am, working late into the evening, and on weekends and holidays. And if they don’t meet the possession date (typically 6 months from when the first shovel hits the ground), they will pay you $500/day. 2. Customer service is their strength. Issues were dealt with quickly and to our satisfaction with face-to-face contact. Everything was in writing. We were contacted monthly in the first year to inquire about any service concerns, all of which were addressed. Their attention to detail is impressive, and all tradesmen take off their shoes outside your finished home before entering. 3. They go above and beyond minimum code requirements to build a quality home that will stand the test of time. 4. Deposit only build process. That means no messing around with the bank to cover construction costs during the build and the outstanding balance is due on the possession day similar to buying a resale home. This saved us money, especially since we were renting when we first moved to the city. 5. They are active in the Calgary community, sponsor a professional Chuckwagon rider each year, and host events for homeowners during Stampede. As a family-owned business, they take pride in giving back to Calgarians. We would not hesitate to build a home again with Homes by US or recommend them to our friends. They feel like part of the family.

We are over 5 years in our Homes By Us home. We absolutely love our home as much today as the day we moved in. We believe this is a large part due to the collaborative process. Homes By Us Ltd slogan is ‘Designed with You’. We feel we have the home we imagined, asked for and completed. If ever our wants or needs change, we would not even consider another builder.

This is the second house we have built(first with Homes By Us) and we have been very happy with the outcome. From the planning process, to design and completion, Homes By Us went the extra mile to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. While we have only been in the house a few weeks, any minor issues have been solved right away without question.

Any dealings with the trades during the building process were very positive and they are quick to tell you they all take pride in their work. As a very hands on home owner(visiting the site frequently and communicating with Homes By Us staff about every little detail,) I can say that their customer service is second to none.

I would certainly recommend this company to anyone considering a new build. Everyone that visits our house has nothing but compliments about the quality of the build and Finishings.

This was the second time we built an Estate home and Homes By Us was far superior to our first builder. From the staff at the show home to the project manager and contractors there was professionalism and sense of pride in workmanship. We were able to custom build from one of their plans and couldn't be happier with our home. Homes By Us were also proud of their work and selected our house for entry for SAM awards and photos of our house are still available on their website and new showhome. They continued great service past the new home warranty as they stand by their product and pride in customer service. We hope to build with them again but love our house we don't want to move. We continue to follow Homes By Us as they open new showhomes and we have never been disappointed on any of their product or staff. Built a custom bungalow with Homes By Us and we had previously built a home before....so we had something to compare to. Every stage from designing to completion went so well because if there were any issues, the staff was so approachable and bent over backwards to make sure we were happy. They made sure the workmanship was top notch and always kept us informed with everything and worked WITH us to make sure we got our dream home. We moved in on the exact day they quoted us and for one year after completion.....if there were any issues, they came and addressed them. If we were ever to build another house, I would not hesitate to pick Homes By Us over and over again.

I purchased a new Homes By Us Ltd. estate home in Aspen Woods Community in Calgary in 2015 and after almost 3 years, I can still confidently state that it was the most prudent and rewarding home purchase I have made. I am extremely satisfied with the design and build quality of the home. The company’s commitment to exceptional attention to building and finishing detail and use of upgraded materials and hardware, combined with a refreshingly modern and appealing design, all contributes to my overall satisfaction of ownership.

Equally as important, all of my service requests are attended to in a timely and professional manner, and reinforces my overall confidence and satisfaction with this home builder. I feel that Homes By Us believes in not just building a great home, but building constructive relationships with their clients, and this shows through in their workmanship and finished product.
