Furnace Repair

WORST SERVICE EVER! Charged me $300 for NOTHING and complained he had to keep coming back. If he had done the job, I wouldn't have had to call him to come back!

Sunday – called Sherry’s Heating Service when my furnace wouldn’t come on. I was impressed at how quickly he arrived. I needed a part he didn’t have, so he would be back Monday afternoon to complete the job.

Monday—waited all day. He didn’t show up. No phone call either.

Tuesday—He phoned me around 10 a.m. with the excuse that he was sick the day before but he would be here today. He came, replaced whatever part it was, I PAID THE BILL, and he left.

Wednesday—Got up this morning to no heat. Called Mr. Sherry and had to explain several times who I was and why I was calling…struck me as strange. He said he would be here in the afternoon. DID NOT SHOW UP. I sent him a text at 5:30 to see if he was still coming and he said no, he was at the hospital with a sick kid, but would come in the morning. I told him I’d wait until morning, but if he couldn’t be here to kindly return the money I had paid him so I could hire someone who wasn’t so busy. Asked what time I could expect him and was told “first thing”.

Thursday—he arrived just before 8:30. Told me he fixed it and left. Within an hour, I realized the furnace still wasn’t cutting in and sent a text to see if he could come back. He said he was up west but would be here “in a bit”. He called just before 4 that afternoon to ask me what the furnace was doing and I told him the same thing it was doing all along since Sunday. He sounded very confused so I asked him if he knows how to fix this or please bring back the $300 I paid him so I can hire another company. He said “well I work on them everyday so…” He arrived a little while later and this time he finally realized the problem all along was water in the tank. I don't know if I really needed the $200 part he put on on Tuesday or not. Either way, I paid for it! I would think he should have recognized water in the tank in the beginning, but I'm not an expert. Anyway, he said he would be back on Friday afternoon to finish up whatever work needed to be done, including a new gauge on my tank where the water was apparently getting in and a protector to keep it from getting broken again.

Friday—He didn't bother to show up, call, text or anything. I haven't been able to leave the house all week due to having to wait for this guy. At 6:30 in the evening, my husband phoned him to let him know we are done with him and to ask for the money back so we can hire someone else. He said he would come back tomorrow morning but wouldn't even give a time. When my husband told him I had waited all day today, he said I should have phoned him! Is that standard for the customer to have to chase someone like that when I was told he would be here? When asked to have the money refunded, he said he would come take the pump out that he put in and I would be left with nothing.

REFUSES to give my money back and after spending $300, I have to now hire someone else.
