Watch out for this builder, very unorganized unprofessional service I have ever got. Build was suppose to be done in 4 months look 9months after chasing people around multiple phone calls , texts , emails . Do not share there lawyer she doesnt protect you. Do not release any funds tell all jobs complete had walk through and they where suppose to come back and do the list they never returned once they got there funds . Still one year after living in home and filing complaint with alberta home warranty they still have not finished work. Builder came in to house after I took possesion and did a inspection did not tell me, filed a police complaint. They are a complete headache to work with, I have spoken to others who have built and would provide references of bad work. Highly would suggest you look for a different builder can contact me via facebook for more information
We purchased a large bungalow that was built in 1976 on a dream property. Gallery Homes agreed to help us do a complete overhaul on the house, literally taking it down to the frame. The construction manager was incredibly patient, helpful, and available! Not typical to a new build, we were very involved with every step of the process, including the trades. Each trade was a pleasure to work with, providing their expert input - particularly on where to spend the $ and where to utilize cost effective alternatives.
The icing on the cake in this very large project - renovating nearly 4,500 square feet - was that it was completed in almost exactly four months.
We now have our dream home, on a dream property and owe it to Gallery.
My wife and I built a new home with Gallery Homes in Cochrane. I am a Realtor in the Calgary/Cochrane area and am very selective with new builders for my clients, and obviously my own purchases. I had no affiliation to Gallery Homes and was strictly looking for the best home for the best price.
Start to finish, we are very pleased with every step of the process. We requested an ambitious possession date, but were assured that it would be be met, and it was! Good luck finding another Builder to commit to a guaranteed possession date.
As for the quality of our home, all finishings were very high quality and we were very pleased that our selections and changes were all accommodated. As in any new home, there are a few touch ups, but this was one of the cleanest builds I have come across. Any issues were dealt with within days.
I want to thank the team at Gallery for a pleasant experience (personally and professionally) and a great home to start our family in!
We built with Gallery and moved in a little over a year ago, at first we were a bit hesitant as we where unfamiliar with the builder but after seeing some of Gallery's work and quality we decided to give it a go. The whole process was well worth it. The quality of the home and craftsmanship that went into was top quality. It was a pleasure dealing with the construction supervisor and trades that were fully invested in giving us a top quality home, they took the "big box builder" can't change a thing to doing what was right and what made sense for us as the home owner. We have had very little issues and they have always been quick to respond and always errored on the side of the customer. Those issues that we have had have been minor and as I expected when building a new home from my past experiences. I feel we got a custom built home when working off spec built budget. I appreciate all the hard work that went into our house and will be sure to appreciate it for years to come.
I purchased a home from Gallery Homes last year. I found them to be very professional with my needs as a purchaser. The construction manager seemed to always have time to meet with me and answer any questions that I might have had. I would highly recommend building with Gallery Homes!
Save yourself the stress! Largest purchase I've ever made with the worst customer service I have ever received. I understand all new homes will come with deficiencies and people make mistakes. It is very sad that this company shows no empathy for those mistakes and has such one sided communication(they are very hard to reach when you need help) I have never made so many unanswered or unreturned calls. I have never sent so many emails without a response or resolve. If you are thinking of building with Gallery Homes you might want to look into taking a year off from your full time job because its a full time job to fight for what you paid for.
February 11, 2015. This is a warning to anyone looking to build with Gallery Homes in the Jumping Pound area located in Cochrane Alberta. Be careful when dealing with Gallery Homes as my wife and I would highly recommend using any other home builder. Our experience has been the most stressful time in our lives and we are now left with an incomplete home. Soon after signing papers with the sales rep we began to loose trust and respect with our sales rep. During the first couple months we caught our sales rep trying to over charge us for extras. Soon after many terrible experience trying to obtain correct blue prints, correct pricing etc., Gallery homes later fired the sales rep. During the construction portion of the home build it went generally very well and the construction supervisor appeared to care and consider our input. As our possession date for October 31, 2014 approached we received a call a few days before that our home will not be ready. We were informed that every quartz countertop in the entire home has been botched and a hack job installation was done, all countertops had to be replaced. Gallery put us up in a hotel room for four nights ensuring that the home will be completed when we take possession the following week. The day of possession finally took place on November 3, 2014 and to our surprise the home was full of deficiencies , incomplete work, horrible paint and missing items. Our walk through lasted 15 minutes and were forced into signing. The construction supervisor ensured that everything would be fixed and completed asap. This was the beginning of our nightmare. We had no ensuite bath tub, no ensuite shower door, no ensuite backsplash, no main bath shower tile or backsplash, no island pendant lights, no entrance chandelier, no front entrance tile, incorrect garage door, sinking flooring, bad paint work, incorrect garburator, malfunctioning door latches, missing kitchen drawers, missing eves troughs, no exterior house number, windows covered in Lux stickers, shingles covered in nails/razor blades and a very very filthy home. It took weeks to get anything done or even a shower door. As time went on trades started showing up at unannounced times and at late hours. Each time a crew came it seemed more problems were created than resolved. Gallery Homes had a lock box on our front door for over three months and trades were working in our home unsupervised. One Friday evening we came home at 8:30 pm to find a tile crew still working in our home unsupervised and to our surprise they grouted our entire ensuite backsplash the wrong color. After a heated conversation with the construction supervisor as to what happened after we discussed the color was to be white, he said he will no longer coordinate with us and we are now to deal with the owner of Gallery Homes directly. After finally getting in contact with the owner he had no time or desire to personally meet with us or help us out. We were now forced to communicate via email, text messages and emails. Our entire ensuite backsplash later had to be removed and the walls re-drywalled. We also could now not get the same backsplash as it was on back order. Another day we came home and to our surprise our ensuite bathtub was installed but not installed how we would have wanted it. We received no notice of installation or input as to how we want it positioned. When the new crew came to install the ensuite backspalsh they were very unprofessional and we caught them cutting tile and backplash directly on top of our quartz countertops leaving black mark. The flooring crew from Canada Rug refused to replace a chipped piece of flooring or to repair the sinking piece of flooring. During the last part of December 2014 and into January 2015 we received no communication from Gallery, each time we sent emails or left voicemails we heard nothing back. Finally in mid January 2015 we heard from a service coordinator who instructed us that she will take over and wants us to send in our deficiency list. An email later stated that our flooring issues will be taken care of and hopefully our ensuite tub will be relocated. At this point we have been shuffled from the sales rep, to the construction supervisor, to the owner and now to a service coordinator. A meeting was held in our home with the service coordinate to review and discuss the remaining deficiencies. The painter showed up and did some paint work that was below satisfactory. The garburator was swaped out for the correct size. A week later we received an email stating that Gallery will not repair our sinking flooring or relocate our ensuite bathtub. It is now February 2015 and we are left with permanent deficiencies. I would highly recommend to not use this home builder as you will be very disappointed.
General home quality was good however communication during and after the build is completely lacking. Over a year and we have yet to have half of our deficiency list adressed. Communication throughout build process was non-existant with non of the changes made during the sales process being completed. Selection of finishing materials is completed by running all over Calgary with no centralized process. We were 3 weeks late getting into the house which would have been fine except we were not informed of our new possesion date until the week of our move in date and this was only discovored when we checked on the house (which we were told not to do) and then confronted our sales rep that the house had yet to be painted inside and baseboards were not on yet.. We were discouraged from checking on the house during construction and have been generally ignored following our posession date. HVAC system had issues in the middle of January and it took them almost three weeks to send someone out. Previous postiive reviews must have been a completely different company than the one I dealt with. Save youerself the headaches and build with a builder that actually engages their customers. Or be ready to send countless emails and make endless phone calls to try and get the minimum of customer service so that you can enjoy your home.
Building with Gallery Homes was a great experience. From start to finish we were involved with every aspect of building our dream home. We were able to take one of our favorite house plans and modify it to fit on our lot. We were able to meet with different trades and suppliers to pick what we wanted in our house. From start to finish it only took 7 months to complete considering 2007 was a busy time for everyone. I would definitely recommend this builder for your next house.
