Buying a wardrobe and a night stand

The most unprofessional business with zero customer service. We ordered a wardrobe and a night stand from this place. The delivery took a lot longer than it was expected. The owner always promises every delivery to be done in ten business days. However, that is an absolute L. We had to call many times to follow up the status of our order and each time there was no answer and no answering machine either. On occasions he would pick up the phone, and when we inquired about the status of our order, he would say to call back again TOMORROW or some other time. Finally, after waiting for about 6 weeks, we had the wardrobe and nightstand delivered to us. The wardrobe's dimension was totally different than what we had discussed with the owner. Therefore, we had to return it back. We called him back and explained to him that the wardrobe he delivered was not what we had ordered originally. He was so rude to us and said he will have the manufacturer to build us another one but we have to pay much more. We agreed to pay more as long as the item is done properly. It took another six weeks (not 10 business days as owner always says) for the new wardrobe and night stand to be delievered. Not to mention that the delivery is always couple of hours later than what they tell you. We paid the delivery man the full money. When they left, we noticed that one corner of the night stand was completely broken and damaged. We called Owner. He said, you have to bring it back. We delivered the item back to his store. We were emotionally and mentally exhausted to deal with him and wanted to return the broken night stand and get our money back. He refused to refund us, and said that he will get us another night stand (again false promises of 10 business days delivery which never happened). Each time we had to make numerous calls to him to find out what happened to our order and why it's not yet delivered. Finally we decided to go to the store and pick up the night stand, and asked him to not deliver it. When we went to his store, we noticed that the second drawer of the night stand does not close properly. We brought this to his attention in a very civil way. Owner pulled the drawer out and pushed it back in with a lot of rage. That caused part of the drawer to break. Then he laughed at us, saying that we can leave this one here too, and he will get us a new one. We did not want to deal with him EVER again and decided to take the damaged night stand as it is. People I warn you, don't be fooled by his cheap prices, His service is extremely poor and the quality of the items you order and extremely poor as well. Whoever is hiring a lawyer to sue him, can have our total support. I personally think he does not care about his customers at all and he is used to treating everyone very poorly and delivering a very inferior service. I would never ever again step into his store and I woul urge everyone who had a bad experience to complain to BBB. I think this business has to be shut down completely or at least be managed by someone who knows how to run a business. I wish I had read the reviews on this site before purchasing anything from him. That way I would have avoided him completely. Anyone who is suing him, will have our complete support.

Sofa

I can only say positive and wonderful things about buying furniture and household decor here. We have purchased an entire bedroom set here, including the luscious Area linen sheets and duvet, and the Merida rugs to finish it off. We could not be happier. The prices are fair and more than competitive with other dealers we researched. Cliff, the owner, goes out of his way to educate us about our options and he never makes us feel that any question is asking too much.

Custom sectional never delivered

i purchased a love seat from crown furniture in january 2013. after leaving a $200 deposit for it, and agreeing to pay the difference in cash upon delivery i received my order, but it was over one week late.
however, i was satisfied with my order, so i decided to place a second order for a custom sectional, left a $700 deposit on visa, but they were having "trouble with their machine" so i tried debit and it went through... the balance due upon delivery was to be 1300 + tax.
it has now been 4 months since my order was placed - which i was told would have been delivered within 2-3 weeks (meaning in FEBRUARY!!!!)
since calling to arrange delivery date all through January and February i still have not been able to get a hold of anyone at the store...it is now April 30th, and there has been a sign on the door saying "closed for two weeks" since february. no returned calls, no returned emails, however theyre delivery truck is parked in the back alley behind the store at times - so i know that someone as been to the location at times.

i am attempting to have my money returned from my bank, however my bank statements show that the deposit was taking by "CANTO FURNITURE" not "CROWN FURNITURE"

has anyone else had this same problem?

to those who are trying to fight for their money back...what is the result? any success?

im at my wits end and am about to contact the landlord for the property and a lawyer

Bought coffee table

Really cheap price. The service staff can be more friendly but with the low price, you can't really expect too much. The product was what was advertised and delivery was on time.

Computer Desk

Hello ENO from Mississauga. I WOULD LIKE TO JOIN YOU!!!!!

I have faced with unfair business practice such as deceptive promotional and sales tactic. On December 8 2010, I bought a computer desk at location 1237 Bloor Street West Toronto, Ontario M6H 1N6. I paid $372.90 CAD. I paid $150 CAD deposit and $222.90 cash after delivery.

Unfortunately, the desk has not performed well and the service was inad­equate. The delivery was not on time, on December 21 in­stead of December 16, and the desk has a very poor quality:

-Scratch on the top of the desk,
-Chunk of the wood missing from the desk leg,
-Splits on the edges of the desk (all edges pretty much).

When I got the damaged desk, I refused to accept it. But the delivery man said they would not take it back and I had to go to the store to resolve the problem.

Next day I called to the store, explained the problem, they did not recall me as they promised. After that I sent an e-mail, a fax and came to the store myself. The sales person Zaim refused to return money and suggested me the exchange only. When I asked him to speak with his manager, he said he was the only person whom I could talk with.

So, I am very disappointed with the service and the quality.

I had written a compliant to the Better Business Bureau. Case was opened on December 29. The BBB had been waiting for the business to respond. My case was closed by BBB because the business didn't respond. Ministry of Consumer Services Consumer Protection Branch didn't help me either.

Horrible Service

I want to say after the experience i had with the sales representative in the store i would never recommend anyone to buy from this store because they are very pushy and ignorant at the same time because one day he tells myself and my wife that we could put down any money for the deposit and then the next day we go in and he tells us something totally different and was rude about it as well.

My name is Steve I hav the same promblem as every1 else with crown furniture. I got a sofa i did not order and its missing peice, the head board of my bed is damage and the built in drawers are 16" not 18". The son who works in the store ignored my calls and has refused to take back the stuff i did not pay for and has refused a refund. I have called the BBB and Customer consumer relations, he also did not respond. Im taking him t small claims court. Dont buy your furniture from these crooks.

CROWN FURNITURE / FURNITURE PURCHASE DINNING SET AND SECTIONAL COUCH

DO NOT BUY FURNITURE FROM CROWN FURNITURE. THEY ARE CROOKS. i bought furniture from Crown Furniture on Bloor St/Dufferin in Toronto and they never delivered it. i kept calling and calling for over 4 days in a row no response, so i decided to drive there. When Zain from crown furniture saw me there he said "Hey boss what's up" I told him where is my furniture man? he is like, oh yes man its coming on Friday no worries. i didn't complain, and i said ok. Friday comes the Furniture is supposed to come between 1-3pm, i am waiting and waiting and it's already 6 pm no call nothing. I decided to call, and so i did for one hour and a half i kept calling and calling as usual no response, no answering machine either. its now 9:05pm and someone calls my cellphone and says hey man we are downstairs, we have your furniture. i said ok finally. they arrive upstairs and guess what the wrong couch and no dinning room table and no chairs. i was very upset and did not know where to complain. i call Zain from Crown Furniture the next day and of course he doesn't pick up, so i make another trip down there. i said Zain where is my dinning room set man he is like, oh i don't know man, the moving guys picked it up from the supplier, i guess they must have "TAKEN" it. i said what. right a way i noticed that i am dealing with crooks. He (Zain) said no worries man i will deliver it on Saturday between 6-9pm. i said ok, i'll be waiting. Zain calls me at 8:20pm and says, Eno we have a problem, my driver is stuck in Brampton i need to deliver it by Taxi, but i need you to pay him $20 bucks, after arguing back and forth i agreed to pay the taxi $20 dollars. when i open up the box i see he has brought me the wrong table and also the wrong chairs. i called him the next day and as always no pick up. i went to the store and i asked him for my money back, he said no man i am not giving you any money back, choose any table there and i will deliver it by Saturday, after i chose the tABLE HE ASKED ME FOR MONEY AGAIN. THIS IS STILL GOING ON TO THIS DAY. I HAVE NOW DECIDED TO HIRE A LAWYER AND SUE HIM FOR FRAUD AND EMOTIONAL DISTRESS. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO JOIN PLEASE WRITE ON THIS BLOG
