Who is supposed to put on silicon inside the house?

Last Wednesday Beckers Windows and Doors replaced my 6 windows and 1 patio door and 1 exterior door. My question: Is it the way the installers do not put silicons between the casing and the wall? Since it is the first time I have my windows replaced. I totally have no idea. I went to Home Depot to buy dap and an associate told me that the window company should do the job. I make phone calls, leave messages, send emails and get no replies. I have to keep calling. Finally the Burlington salesperson, who was so nice when he came to my house and gave me a quote, just told me it is the painter's job to put on silicon. I don't know and have to ask here. Hope somebody can answer me.

Approximate cost of services:
$10,000.00

Company Response

Mrs. Li,
We would like to address and answer your questions the third time around. May be you do not want to except the true answer...
You requested that the installation of your new windows should be done full tear out "brick to brick" method of installation. That is what was done. Both the sales representative and the installation supervisor individually advised you of what is the responsibility of the homeowner after "brick to brick" installation if needed.
This type of installation comes with new interior finishing (new jamb extension & new interior casing) that we "primed" complimentary for you and installed them. All interior touch up related matters after "brick to brick" installation are solely responsibility of the homeowner. Painting or varnishing can be done by a painter contractor or doing it themselves. To answer your question, it is up to the painter contractor to know which fillers if any are needed as in most cases the paint of the new trim itself covers the hairlines between the trim and the drywall. In the event that in some places the drywall was not originally strait (by the builder), the painter may apply acrylic pain-table sealer prior to the paint job to cover the hairline. This is his responsibility that is included in the scope of his job and not a window company. If you choose to do the painters job, then you should look after all your painting related needs.
Everything that is listed on your work order was done. Your new installed windows are CSA tested and certified, EnergyStar approved, low expansion foam insulated, proudly built in Canada. Lifetime warranty parts and labour.
Our reputation stands for itself. What ever we promise, we deliver!
Your claim has no merit. The window companies are not painters.
When you fill up gas at the station , it does not automatically come with car wash or oil change. It is a separate service.
All your phone calls and e-mails were answered promptly and we have it on record.
Thank you,
Nancy
