My husband worked for Kirk for 5 months and initially we were thrilled with how great an employer he seemed to be. He offered to help us get new kitchen cabinets because he was a dealer through Muskoka cabinets & told us it would be 6-8 weeks, which was way faster than other places, so we agreed to go ahead. We planned everything out & placed a 50% deposit. 12 weeks of waiting passed & over that time my husband started to notice mistreatment of customers, illegal jobs without permits & electricians, & a pattern of not placing orders on time & projects being continually delayed. We started to get suspicious that he was doing the same to us, so we started questioning about when our order was coming. Kirk swore it was ordered but never gave us any proof even after directly asking for an order confirmation. Finally at 16 weeks I started emailing Kirk directly and had a long phone conversation with him where he got upset with me for “questioning his integrity” by asking for the order number. I even told him we would be very happy if the order wasn’t placed & we could just have our money back and move on. He told us he would give us an answer the next Tuesday & he did not follow through or answer my phone calls that day. The next day I started calling Muskoka cabinets directly & after many phone calls finally got through to the order manager who told me kirk had actually only just placed the order a couple days before. I called Kirk right after and told him what I had discovered. He continued to come up with excuses & blaming other people for what happened. He never apologized for how much he screwed us over & the next day my husband quit. The only good thing he did was return our money, without interest of course. Do not hire this company or his other company timbercraft. He is not honest & lacks integrity!
