I was referred to Ideal Insulation from a friend that thoroughly researches everything before going ahead with any work done on her house. I needed more insulation in my attic after 30 years of living in my home and 1 of the 2 bathroom fans was not attached and venting outside, it was just venting into the attic. Mike came out and did a thorough inspection of my attic and took pictures of issues that he saw (so I wasnt just taking his word for it). I didnt get back to Mike for over 6 weeks after receiving the quote and he never bugged me, he just left me alone. When I did reach out to Mike, I was given a day and time that worked for me and the quoted price (over the 30 day guarantee) and the work was done, including the outside venting on the roof, exactly when they said it would be done. Great experience and service from beginning to end. I highly recommend Ideal Insulation.

House was built in 1986 and attic insultation needed an upgrade, so we reached out to Mike at Ideal.
We also had some concerns about possible moisture in the attic that might be contributing to ceiling issues. Mike came out and inspected the attic and other areas we were concerned about. As it turned out, our attic was in pretty good shape, and the ceiling issues were caused by something else.
We felt very confident in Mikes ability to assess the situation. He also gave us a detailed, easy to understand quote, to have our attic insulation upgraded to R60.
We are very pleased with the service we received by both Mike and the team that did the work, and we are happy with the noticeable results and new comfort in our home.

Ideal was easy to deal with and were quick and effeciate both with the estimate and the job itself.

We had two quotes for upgrading our attic insulation.

The first company (recommended by a friend's neighbour) asked to be sent the Greener Homes Report which had brought us around to looking at upgrading the insulation in our 40 year old home. Within a couple of hours we got a quote back for the insulating offering the day they could come by to do the work. I was not impressed.

The second company was IDEAL Insulation (recommended by a fellow who has a highly successful home building business in Calgary). Mike Palmer of IDEAL came round to inspect both attic spaces, discovered our soffits were not up to code and we did not have any venting from the main attic. He was very professional, personable and explained the effects of the smaller soffits and no venting which lined up with our experiences dealing with the temperatures within the house.

The quote was within the same range as the fellow who had not taken the time to come by to take a good look at what work was really required.

The fellows from IDEAL who came to manage the rest of the work arrived on time, were also very professional, personable explaining what they were doing. They cleaned up 100% afterwards. Throughout this Mike stayed in touch with us confirming decisions about the colour of the vents so as to blend in with our roofing, the price as well as the date of the work to be done.

Friendly service provided in a timely manner. All my questions were answered during the inspection, the installers arrived early and worked quickly. Very pleased.

Ideal was great to deal with. The consultation with Carlos was helpful with pictures to show the findings. We had ice buildup in the attic from several crews doing work in the attic years before. The resultant heat loss caused a large ice buildup during three weeks of -30 temps which then melted in warmer weather, causing a leak. The crew doing the work protected our home with lots of wraps, removed the old insulation, sealed up all the lights and gaps in the vapour barrier and blew in new insulation plus a top-up to R50 through the whole attic. They tackled a problem area we'd also identified that went all the way back to the 1998 home construction and was in the farthest corner of the attic, very hard to access!
Money well spent, as I feel good knowing we're going to avoid this issue in future cold spells and hopefully lower our heating bills too.
