Salesperson (Eric) came several times to look at attic conditions, explained and made recommendations, one of which was to make drywall boxes around each pot lights (over 60). I told him this is unnecessary as all potlights have been retrofitted with IC Airtight Remodeler LEDs, approved for use in insulated ceiling in direct contact with the vapour barrier boots, installed by my electrical contractor after consultation with the City inspector. Everything went wrong when the operational workers took over. The workers cut the air barrier vapour boots, completely destroying their function. When I complained this to the Operational manager (Jason), his response is denial. He informed me he had "assumed the potlights are the older style which give off heat". Therefore Roxul insulation was placed to cover pot lights, "when there is a potential fire risk from non-LED potlights". He also stated to me "the installation of boots was pointless." After my repeated complaints and not getting a satisfactory explanation except denial from him, he arranged a meeting with me and my electrical contractor to visit my attic and to see the conditions of the vapour boots over the potlights. He cancelled the meeting unilaterally less than 24 hours before the scheduled time. Despite my repeated invitation to him to come and see the cut boots himself, he never came. I am very upset that my time, effort and money spent in installing the air and vapour boots over my new LED potlights were rendered completely useless by cutting. I can never restored the function of the cut boots. There has been a complete disconnect between the sales side and the operational side. And worse of all, in all of this, the operational manager had never visited my house and see the attic for himself!
