Sweet talk to get the sale- empathy quotient zero

We recently bought a home with bedrock homes. We were given a date to remove the conditions, three days after putting the offer. We jumped hoops to get the conditions removed. While the process was ongoing we were told that the possession would be as close to the date when we vacate our current premises. But once it was all done, deposits paid we have been given a date 17 days away. We have kids and limited mobility senior.
We will be made to pay for the accommodation for over a fortnight ( running upto 2500$ approximately)
disrupting our lives upside down, be it our work or our kids school etc .
The pressure to close and then deflect on what was promised, leaving us high and dry in the winter, using technicality is reprehensible. We were told that city inspection cant be done by then. Guess what we did wait it out for the said time period. And the inspection failed. Now we are getting the house but without the gas range which was the primary reason why the delay happened.

The area sales manager tried and Ill give her the credit where its due but this customer service is beyond awful .
What bothers me the most is that there is zero empathy or accountability or even acknowledgement for all the trouble were experiencing not counting the fact that them not keeping their verbal commitment ruined our diwali celebration.

Makes me regret in believing in the sweet talk to get the sale and actually believing that theyll keep what they promised verbally and over texts.
and then show zero effort to make good of the troubles we experienced. Their consolation is a garage for storage (which we paid the full insurance for ) and a freaking hot plate for cooking 3 meals for a family of 5 for 6 days because why shouldnt we have extra chaos in our lives.
When it came to negotiating they wouldnt budge a penny but when it comes o botched inspection they shrug the hands off because its trades and not them. Are there trades people some rogue elements that bedrock has nothing to do with??

this is hands down, one of the most unprofessional experiences of my life.

Horrible experience with Salesperson Brian - Maple Edmonton

Had a horrible experience with Salesperson Brian at bedrock homes. He had no idea about the house build dates, sq ft area of the house and was more interested in knowing who was my mortgage approval company and if I will be working with realtor of his choice or not. provided wrong square footage, year build and then instead of apologizing for being wrong and providing misleading information, he brought in a fake pending offer at the listed price. I still see the house on sale after two months and I hope the management does some checking on him (Send dummy customers to him). If he is employed then he will corn people and innocent people will loose tons of money and a good company building great houses will be out of business.

My Bedrock Purchase

After my Bedrock purchase (February 2020) experience, I will add my vote to the large numbers of people on multiple review sites that Bedrock will not help once they have your money. Sadly, it took 57 days to get a reply from head office with lots of incorrect information and denials. One small (but to me pretty gross and representative) example: The pic is of my kitchen counter. If that were my client, I'd have the cleaning people I've paid back to the new home within a day to do it properly. Bedrocks' choice (in just this one example): Head office response: "we regret that you did not share the same experience" (with the level of clean)....Sad but true...

Bedrock Homes 10/10!

Working with the Spruce Grove Team was an incredibly proffesional and nice process. We were interested in building a house with them in the McGlaughlin area and just walked into the showhome which was the beginning of a great relationship with the team. They made sure that all my questions were answered and that we were 100% informed on what was happening. I would highly recommend building with Bedrock, especially with the Spruce Grove team. Beautiful area and an amazing team!

Rough Grading

my rough grading failed 3 times as of now. every time i had to email and ask for status and then they will say they extended date and they dont have control over grading. sales manager is not answering calls now. am growing a forest in my yard now and neighbors are getting fences and and i cant do anything in my yard 10 months after possession. All calls will go to voicemails. Emails replies happens on biweekly basis. A person called Ayla is handling rough grading and she might do something else if she cant handle her stuff.

Bad service

This was my very first time buying a house. It was very stressful and in the beginning I was working with an amazing representative of the company. She kept me updated and I new exactly what was going on.

Partway theough the build the company moved me to a new sales person that said I would be kept up to date with weekly updates and heard from them twice in 3 months. I felt like they knew they were gonna get my money so they didn’t feel like they needed to do anything.

During the build I would check in to see what had been completed and there was a full month where no work had been completed. Absolutely nothing! I find out later that there building crew changed and the new crew went on holidays. Absolutely nothing was done after the company was notified about this.

Also during the build, I had mentioned to the first sales representative that the fence looked too close to the side of my house and felt that by the time I moved in there wouldn’t be enough room to go by the side of the house. Part of this was due to the fact that the fence needed to be ripped out in order to even dig the whole for the foundation. This information was relayed and checked and I was
notified that I was correct and this issue would be fixed before moving in. I go for my walkthrough and I watch the fence move right back to where it was, prior to being ripped out, giving myself less room than what is stated on my property report.

After being in my house for a month and constantly emailing the second sales representative I finally got a call from the general manager to set up a time to meet about the fencing issue. I was told that he would bring a copy of the property report and that something would be worked out. There no property report brought but was surprised to find out that I had mine ready so there would be no confusion.

It’s been about a week since the meeting and I have not been updated about anything yet.

Pleasant experience purchasing home

We purchased a new house that was already built and ready for occupation. We were impressed with the quality of materials used, the layout of the house, enhancements to several details such as larger windows throughout providing a lot of light in the house, bigger bonus room and garage etc. We agreed on a contract to have the landscaping done by Bedrock, new appliances supplied, a deck installed and some other additions done before we moved in. Bedrock did a prompt and complete job meeting all our requests for changes. We have been in the house for a year now and there have been few issues or defects arising - the major problem was on the HVAC system which was picking up radio signals and behaving erratically. Bedrock attended to all the issues raised by us through their warranty program and resolved the issues within days of us raising them. Overall, we have been very happy with our home and Bedrock’s attention to making our move a pleasant experience.

Landscaping Disaster

Greetings, I am here to write of a review of Bedrock homes, more specifically their landscaping. We bought our house in November 2015 in the Fraser Vista area. In our purchase we paid for bedrock to do the landscaping for us, thinking it would save us the hassle. This turned out to be the biggest waste of money I've ever experienced. It is currently October 14 almost a full Calendar year since we bought the property and our yard still looks very similar to way it did a year ago. We waited patiently all spring, summer, and fall for something to get done. We even bought a new puppy anticipating that he would have a yard to play in. We have a yard of dirt weeds and water. I contacted the woman in charge of landscaping to find out why nothing had got done all year. She happened to be on vacation and didn't respond for over a week. When she did return she blamed the city for being to busy and not coming out to do the final grade. So I followed up and called the city. They told me that bedrock hadn't filed a request for final grade approval. Having found out I was given the runaround I called the General Manager of the company. He seemed concerned and honest upon our first conversation and I was told he would look into it and call me back. That was over a week ago I received no call back and I haven't been able to reach him since. So I got back in touch with the landscaping woman and told her what the city said. She said it was all a misunderstanding and tried to talk her way out of the wrong information I was told. She then blamed her contractor and gave me the contact information for Wiseman Landscaping. The man I talked to was completely unprofessional and blamed the weather for nothing getting done all summer. I was hoping he would take some accountability, but that seems to be a foreign concept to these people. I'm not sure if it's procrastination or they are saving money by buying all our grass and trees in October but what ever the case I'm out of patience. Our yard looks terrible! It's full of half dead trees and shrubs they delivered, weeds that grew all summer, no steps for our deck, garbage, and has a river of water running from the back to the front. They originally said we had the option to get grass in the spring. Which made sense since it has snowed 3 times already this year. Now I was told they are going back on what they said and putting in grass next week despite the snow and Ice covering the ground. They are delusional claiming grass planted in EARLY fall is completely fine. Late October does not seem like early fall to me especially with the snow. I implore anyone who foolishly buys a bedrock home to do the landscaping themselves! This company cuts every corner imaginable to save money buy a home from someone else who treats their customers with dignity and respect.

Excellent Customer Skill

Built the house from Bedrock. I would have given zero but now things got resolved I would give 3 stars. Customer service is great but like any other builders that I know, it goes down from there.
They do not have direct contact with folks who actually build the house. Having said that, 3 days before my possession, house was not completed. they were going to give me the keys. all the things that were not done, they said, it's seasonal or gave some other excuses. I called and called and they kept on passing the buck. I was furious at that time and complained and finally had them got all done by the time I got the key. Squeaky wheels gets the grease. I just thought, that shouldn't have happened to anyone especially buying half million dollar house.

New home build

Late in building home, with many installation defects, did not returned calls, passed the buck. Does not have social responsibility to its customers would never recommend. My shingles have been falling of my roof since bought home over 2 years ago.
update: in May I complained to the Better Business Bureau, today I am happy to say that the contracted roofing company repaired the shingles along with other minor defects.
