They did a fine plumbing job, as far as I can tell, but their bookkeeping and their customer service are so incompetent that I cannot recommend them.
Due to my multiple sclerosis, I have memory and focus problems. I completely forgot that I'd already paid the plumber in March 2017 and when they emailed me the same invoice again in November 2017, I paid them a second time. Even though I had clearly noted the same invoice number on both cheques, they cashed the second payment as well and didn't mention it to me. When I was preparing my taxes in early March 2018, I found two copies of the invoice and figured out my mistake.
From there, it only got more frustrating as I called and emailed various people from the company and was just passed around without anyone really helping me. I sent several people the images of the cashed cheques from my bank, and they had to admit that it looked like I'd paid them twice, but then they would say that they would have to check with the bank or with someone else. One of the company's phone numbers didn't work and some emails were never answered; once in a while I get an abrupt email promising to get back to me soon. It has been more than a month since I told them about the mistake, and they still haven't told me how they intend to fix it.
Stress makes my medical condition worse and I'm spending precious energy following up with them. All I want is my duplicate payment back, though I personally believe they should also make a generous donation to the MS Society as an apology for taking advantage of my disability.
