Relocation of hot water heater, furnace and ductwork

There are many positive things about Econoair. My initial review, which was a 10, needed to be altered after we realized a few air gaps and design issues with our system. Both of these items were things we felt Econoair as a certified HVAC company should have caught or known. We did feed this back to Econoair, and Bruce responded immediately with an offer to come out. However our general contractor had already booked another provider to make the corrections, so we declined Bruce's offer.

Relocation of hot water heater, furnace and ductwork

We considered 6 HVAC contractors before selecting Econoair. Our criteria included the following: TSSA certification (which we verified), appropriate insurances, BBB accreditation, knowledgeable & professional technicians, as well as positive reviews from Homestars. Econoair was the only company to not just satisfy our requirements but to exceed them (they have additional certifications like NATE and HRAI).

The purpose of our project was to create more useable space for finishing our basement. It took us two months, and discussions with contractors who didn’t always have credentials that checked out, to realize that our “ideal” location was not the best for system efficiency. This was something Bruce knew from the first, and never wavered even though it could have cost him the job.

Econoair technicians were respectful, punctual and hard working – all around nice guys. When we requested a change, adding to the scope of the project, there was no issue accommodating us. It’s worth noting that we were charged fairly in the initial quote and this additional work too.

We are demanding customers who probably go into more technical detail then most. Without hesitation we can say this job was well done, and we’ve already shared Econoair’s details with our general contractor (at his request after seeing the work done). That’s not to say all was perfect, there were some minor miscommunications, however Bruce handled it immediately and to our complete satisfaction. It’s very easy to write a glowing review when everything goes as expected. I think it’s a better show of a contractor’s integrity and service when the unexpected happens. Bruce left us in no doubt that he values his customers and well deserved reputation.
