Joe The Mover

Hired Joe the Mover based on competitive price and reviews on Home Stars. They quoted me $100 an hour for a 3-man crew. They called me the morning of to tell me they had a cancellation and was hoping to come early. I told them if they could get the elevator they could come.

Someone else had the elevator until noon, so the Movers went for coffee and came back at 11:45, and didn't charge me for it. They were courteous, fast and efficient. No damage to any of our goods. The entire move of our 1 plus den apartment to our new bungalow took 3.5 hours and the cost was $350 + HST, just as they quoted. I was so impressed I gave them a $50 tip, as I was fully expecting the move to come in over $500.

I've used Joe the Mover 3 times in the past, and am about to (hopefully) use them again for another move. I've recommended them to at least 3 other friends, who have also used their services, and we've all been happy.

Fantastic company! Their prices are reasonable, the guys they send are quick & efficient, and super-friendly. The second time I used them, they even sent an extra guy, because he was "bored and just sitting around", but they didn't charge me anything extra!

I had to have an overnight move once, where they moved me out, put my stuff in storage overnight, and moved me into my new place the next day - all they charged was an additional 1 hour for the overnight, and an additional 1 hour for the extra travel. It was something out of the ordinary for them to do, but they went out of their way to make sure it happened.

They go the extra mile, too. Making sure my shoddy box-taping was fixed so the boxes wouldn't fall apart, making little ropes out of tape to tie-up cupboards in my furniture ... just the extra little touches that make a world of difference.

I would 100% recommend them.

Called Joe the mover due to a recommendation from a friend. Had a great conversation about the plan for my move. Booked them that day and they came a week later. I was relieved to be able to find someone to come on such short notice, and they were very professional and careful with my stuff. I've had bad movers in the past that have damaged a variety of things, and not one item was worse for wear with Joe the mover. I was glad to use them and would recommend to others.

From the moment I called and booked with the secretary to the paying at the end of the move,it was an absolute pleasure. The movers were experienced, curteous and an absolute delight. They handled all my possessions with care, worked through out the entire day, and even assisted my husband assembling all our bedrooms and bookcases.We asked to store a couple of larger peices with their storage warehouse and we were given that free of charge. This is a company I would definately recommend to anyone.

I have moved 4 times in the past 7 years and used Joe the Mover for 3 of those moves. Each time they have been fast, efficient and very friendly. The actual cost one time was less then they quoted and never been higher. Next time i move i will be booking them for sure again....but hopefully that wont be for a few years!

Asked for a specific crew that was amazing, did not get it and the crew that showed up damaged all our furniture, I would highly recommend you NOT use these movers. Took them 14 hours to move our furniture. This is after my family and I personally moved 247 boxes.

On the phone, I enquired about cancellation fees: if I had cancelled at least one week before the booking, no fee was applied. I cancelled 10 ten days before the scheduled date, and my CC has been charged 100$!! Gets 0 for poor customer service.

The guys that came to do the move were really great and efficient but the price I was quoted was wayyy off. They even had a hard time justifying their hours to me. They demanded more money than quoted and threatened to put a lean on my house if I didn't pay their full amount and when I paid them cash for my quoted price they refused to give me a receipt. I will never never recommend this company to anyone after this experience.

This mover was recommended by a friend - as well as on this site (homestars.com) - I was not disappointed. They arrived early and began working right away. The guys were professional AND friendly. My house contents (plus BBQ & other outdoor items) were moved quickly and safely to my new home. I highly recommended them!

We used these guys when going from a 2-bedroom apartment to a 3-bedroom house. They were professional, efficient and pleasant to deal with. Finding movers was the most stressful part of the moving process, but Joe the Mover made it the best experience ever!
