Maize Siding & Eavestroughing

We hired Maize to install eavestroughs on our home. We hired them because they assured us that they had experience and the knowledge to install on to a metal roof.
Within weeks of installation, it was discovered that water was leaking between the new eavestrough and the fascia. This was occuring because they had incorrectly installed the eavestrough over the water barrier instead of behind.
This left us with very dangerous patches of ice on our front and rear steps as well as outside the garage for the entire winter.
After posting here, Maize contacted me and repaired the defective installation.
Maize refused to repair the issue (which would involve removing and re-installing) without charging an additional $440 for an additional drip edge. We already have a drip edge in place which is part of the metal roof, so adding another one was just ridiculous.
I spent several hours removing the eavestroughs at the worst areas and re-installing correctly. Now they work perfectly without leaking. Proving that the additional drip edge was not required.

Pathetic installation, pathetic customer service, bordering an fraud.

The only reason they get a generous "1" is for quality materials.

I would recommend avoiding them at all cost.

UPDATE;

After viewing this review, Maize took the proper and professional steps to correct the issues with my installation.

Called them several times for after sales service and they never come. Have a two storey house and they ended up having the entire front of the house leading to one spout on the side of the house. The eaves can't take all that much at one time and overflows into the flower boarders creating lakes and floating flowers.

I would recommend using this company if you want to have a lot of your time wasted. This company has a problem with internal communications no concept of customer service.

We agreed that the work would be done on a certain day and was told that the company works all year long. I arranged to work at home. It snowed that day. When no one showed up, I finally called the office at 11am and was told that "no one is working today". I asked if they had considered telling their customers of that fact and was told that the rep who booked the work should have called me.

Over the following week or so, I had to call in EACH morning (sometimes twice) to find out if the crew would be working that day. Finally, after week of doing this, I was successful in getting Maize to agree to come that day and arranged to be home from work. As I had a meeting at 1pm I asked that the work be done first thing in the morning. I was assured that I was the first job and that the crew would show up at 8 or 8:30. I called at 9:45 as they had not shown up. I was told that the office manager would phone them to find out what was happening. She didn't. I phoned later still and the office manager finally called the crew only to learn that they were finishing a job in a nearby neighbourhood.

I asked both the officer manager and the rep to factor in my time wasted and aggravation when preparing my bill. They did not.

Maize Siding & Eavestroughing sent a salesperson to my home shortly after I contacted the company. The were efficient and were great in helping me understand the product and service. I was very pleased with the workmanship and price. Great job !

It's fun when a company can serve you in french in this town. The team at Maize were perfectly bilangual.

I called at the office maybe a month ago, the office was very nice and transfered me to the corresponding salesman of my area. A week later, the technician came by to instal the gutters. When I came back from work, I noticed the direction of one of the downspout was not to my liking. I called the salesman and a week later, a technician came by to redirect its. I was very satisfied with the service of team.

Being a senior, I had no clue what to ask to repair my roof eavestroughing. I called Maize Siding from St-Pascal and within the same week Mr Maisonneuve came and explained my options. In a few days, his team came and repaired my eavestroughing. The job was excellent, clean, and professional. I would recommend Maize Siding any day.

I am extremely satisfied with the work done by Maize siding & eavestroughing. This is my third house done by them and would recommend them to friend and family. I called the company and got an estimate on the same day. the salesman took his time and answered all my questions. The work was promised to me 3 weeks after, but due to the rainy weather it took a few days more , which is reasonable. The crew arrived and before starting the work knocked on my door to say that they would be beginning work. Once my siding work was completed , no garbage was left around my home and the salesman even stopped by during that time to make sure I was satisfied with the job so far. Then a week later my eavestroughing was installed like promised. Both crews were polite and very courteous if I asked any questions.

This company is a very reputable company was recommended to me by a many people. They are experienced in what they do. I have learnt that if you have to wait to get work done it's because the company is busy and that means that they in demand.

I have dealt with three of their salesman and what impressed me the most is that these salesman have worked themselves for the company installing before so they have hands on experience when pricing a job.

I am very satisfied with Maize siding and Eavestroughing and would rate them a 11 out of 10.

They came for the estimate and started to instal the drought with out our approval. It wasn't done correctly, the way the did it was so that it ended up messing up the roof and we had to get other people to fix that problem they did not do anything we had asked for not happy with this company what so ever

We completely renovated our home and as a result required new eavestroughs all around. The sales person came out to the house and gave me a very through quote. We signed a contract and were advised that the job would be completed in the spring. As agreed the contractor showed up and did the installation. They were professional, quick and cleaned up after themselves. I would highly recommend this company to my friends, neighbors and family.
