2 Bathroom re-models

I was very pleased with Crystal Bath Walls. I had them do BOTH of my bathrooms and they are exceptional!!! I actually had a problem with the taps a few months after the reno and they were at my door that day to help with the situation. The workmanship is professional and I get nothing but compliments on my bathrooms. Ann, the owner, is easy to talk to and promises the work to be done at a certain time and she is true to her word. I would highly recomend them for remodeling anyones bathroom or kitchen and I it's surprising some of the poor reviews I have been reading. Like I said, they were exceptional!

We recently had a bathroom renovated by crystal bath, with the team of mario and chris who were on the job site, promply on the job site and finished the reno in a week as promised. They were curtious and friendly, and the out come was exactly what was expected, NO SURPRISES! Everything went according to plan and schedule. This company comes by very reccomended. We would gladly refer any family or friends. Very professional.

bathroom renovation

I hired crystal bath to do renovations to both bathrooms in my home. The scope of the job was a complete gut and rebuild of both bathrooms from the studs up. Everything started out well with Ann being very friendly and personable. But, as mentioned by other reviewers, the minute you pointed out any of THEIR shortcomings it was always YOUR fault. Ann was very condescending as noted by other reviewers. When I pointed out certain things like the poorly taped drywall I was told that it was our responsibility to correct it as preping for paint was not included in the contract. I guess it should have been suspect to me when she was adament that they did not do painting but could provide us with the service at an additional (jacked up) charge through a"professional" painter. I can see why they don't like to paint. That would mean that they would actually have to learn how to properly mud and tape drywall. When asked to correct my leaking shower, again, I was made to feel as though we had done something wrong. That is why the shower was leaking. After much argument she sent one of the workers to re-caulk the shower trying to convince me all the while what a huge favor she was doing me by providing a shower that would not leak. Hind sight they say is always 20/20. Why in the wriiten contract are things not itemized? ie cost to supply the product, cost for labour, cost for disposal etc. Why use durock only on the first 36" of the tub and shower installations and green board on the rest? (Cost difference between a sheet of durock and a sheet of green board is negligeable and labour is the same) Hmmmm? Could it be that they want to do the minimum that they can get away with for maximum profit? My advice is do your homework. Find out what the best materials are and the best methods for their installation. Ask yourself why a company doesn't want to do a project from start to finish (ie painting). Ask yourself why caulk is Mario's best friend at the end of a job. Caulking does have a purpose but it shouldn't be to correct what should have been done right in the first place. Also ask why a supposedly reputable contractor would tell you that a permit isn't really necessary. That a permit was just a way for the government to make money and that it ultimately delays the job as they have to wait around for inspectors all day. There were so many red flags but unfortunately I was to overwhelmed to put 2 and 2 together at the time. At the end I paid a lot of money for a "professional" job which was carried out by a bunch of unprofessional people. If you want to charge top dollar for your services Ann and Mario provide the customer with that same level of quality, craftsmanship and service. You guys are definately not craftsmen. You are do it yourselfers with a building license. The sad thing is is that Ann and Mario think they are the creme de la creme of kitchen and bath renovaters in Toronto and do a good job of portraying that image to would be clients. I am telling you from experience that they are NOT! Buyers beware of a wolf in sheeps clothing. Do not hire cyrstal bath.

Bathroom Renovation

Very Disappointed in the quality control. We were told that work would be checked over to ensure quality. Shower-head came out with the pipe from the wall about 1 inch, this was a complete teardown, the installation should have been done right (i.e. tight), instead they come back and use caulking. When I indicate that I don't think that is correct, they indicate they are the professionals. A few months later, I realize that the spout was caulked properly either. Their response is that it must be something I have done. The reason I hired a professional was so I would have piece of mind. I would never recommend this company. I have never felt so strongly about poor service, but after reading some of the other comments I felt I should add to them.

bathroom vanity and floor installation

I have recently had a very disappointing experience with Crystal Bath Walls in Toronto.
It is unfortunate because our project was very small, yet we received the WORST customer service possible.
We chose Crystal Bath Walls because of a recommendation from a friend, and were pleased with the initial service. However, at some point they decided that we were not worthwhile customers, either because we were not spending enough money or because, as customers, we had questions and concerns about our product. Personally, I have worked in the customer service industry for many years, and I could never imagine speaking to customers in the way in which we were. This is not only because of my work ethic, but also in fear that the customer would be unhappy and lodge a complaint against the company or myself. In addition, since when are customers not allowed to question their investment?
Either way it was deplorable the way we were treated.
We ordered a custom-made bathroom vanity and required Crystal Bath's services for installing our floor. Well, the initial measurement was wrong for the vanity, and apparently, I inconvenienced them when I called to correct it. Alternatively, maybe Crystal Bath does not like to be wrong, and does not have the grace to accept making a mistake. When it came time to install the floor there was major miscommunication. At no point, did this company provide any information regarding the preparation and installation for the floor. We were informed after the fact of the mistakes and held responsible for them.
Then the time came for us to receive our bathroom vanity. Not only did they refuse to deliver the vanity to the house, forcing us to take time off work and rent a van, but once we arrived for our product, we were met with condescending insults and rudeness. The owner of the store actually rolled her eyes at me and insinuated that we would not be able to afford the vanity we had already ordered. Although we paid the deposit by personal cheque (which she happily accepted), she informed us, in her shop, that she would not accept a personal cheque again. Regardless of her feelings towards my family, it would have been nice to know that before travelling to the other side of the city, forcing us again, to take more time and rectify the situation. When we were finally leaving with our bathroom vanity, she assured us (although not very convincingly) that everything was included in the package.
This aspect of the project took place around the beginning of November. Once we installed the vanity, we became aware that we were missing a knob for a drawer and a glass shelf for our display tower. I promptly called Crystal Bath and left a message. No response. I called again the next week. No response. Finally, today I got a response and was informed that they were on vacation this entire time. When I asked if she received my message, she said yes but made no indication that she was intending on calling me back. Now I am left to believe that she will actually email the manufacturer and have our missing pieces mailed to us. In my experience, when shop owners are going to be away for an extended period of time, they change their voicemail greetings so their customers are aware of it.

So this is where we are at now, waiting to see if she actually has our missing pieces mailed to us. She gave me absolutely no confidence that our vanity will be complete. In fact, as soon as she heard my voice her entire demeanour changed.
I DO NOT recommend Crystal Bath Walls in Toronto. They are disrespectful and we received, and are still receiving, the worst customer service I have ever experienced. My fear is that they treat everyone this way, but other customers just take it and forget about it. Or, that they only show respect based on how much money you are spending. Clearly, our measly bathroom vanity was not worth their time.
