Lousy attitude. The guy seems permanently disgruntled. Lousy service. Screwed up my order.
Before you ask these guys to make and hang a door for you, make sure they know their left from their right. I wanted a door quickly, not the 3-6 weeks it normally takes, so I bought a factory extra from these guys. The door it'self was already made. All they had to do was hang it in a frame. I explained how I wanted it to open, and then explained again, and then double checked. They wrote it all down on the invoice just as I asked for. All they had to do was hang it correctly. Let's see... left or right. Now, where should the hinges go? Duhhhhh. They said the door would be ready Tuesday.
They called me Friday, even though the door had been sitting there ready for a few days, and said it was ready for pick up. Okay, first opportunity for installing door, missed. We had to go out of town that very moment, so we'd have to do it in a couple weeks. Oh well, a couple weeks lost. Still better than six weeks waiting, we thought. But when the door came to the house for installation, low and behold, it swung the wrong way! Out and to the left instead of out and right. Duh. Left or right? Two choices. Let's check what the invoice says again.
After letting them know they screwed up, they agreed to redo my door and said to check back next week. Next week came and they said to check back the following week. The next week came and they said it could be another 3-6 weeks and there was no way to control these things. (Except that they could have controlled their initial screw up. Left or right, right?)
After chewing them out royally, they suggested it was my fault because I should have come and noticed that the door was hung wrong and they could have fixed it while we were on vacation. Wow! My fault, eh? Did they not check the door to see it was done right? Did they not check to see if the product matched the invoice. They could have done this at any stage in the process. No, let's blame the customer for not letting them know about their mistake sooner.
Well, they said, they were giving me a new door at the original factory extra price, so I should feel lucky. As if that was a fair pay off. I bought the factory extra to SAVE TIME dummy!
I'll give them a rating of 2 rather than 0 because they picked up their door and refunded my money. I'll never deal with them again.
