company that showed the greatest interest in addressing my design preferences and budget concerns. Special thanks to Melinda (Designer) and Barbara (Project Manager) .. their product knowledge and expertise in dealing with and resolving to my complete satisfaction, a variety of design and personal scheduling issues was really impressive. Additionally, due to Barbara's extraordinary patience and efforts, this has certainly turned out to be a very positive reno experience! We wanted to do a complete tear-out and redesign of our kitchen. We had never undertaken such a large renovation project before, and we were very uncertain about which company to hire. We learned that each company supplied a different range of services. For example, some companies fabricate the cabinets themselves (a plus) but did not offer design services (a minus). Others would supply design services and cabinet construction, but did not offer contracting services (a minus). And so on and so on. This made price comparison just about impossible. Evaluating all these factors was disconcerting and not a pleasant process.

During our initial research, covid was still with us and this meant that availability of contractor services was huge uncertainty.

Design service was also a critical concern. Our kitchen room dimensions are a bit unusual and could not be altered. The existing cabinet layout within the room was awkward, and needed a complete re-thinking in order to optimize the space.

We approached five different kitchen renovation companies in our area. We chose Chestco mostly because of their (almost) one-stop shopping. That is, they supply a complete design service and they take all responsibility for all contracting services, including coordination of every step along the way.
They do not manufacture cabinets but instead procure them from a company called Luxor based in St. Jerome Quebec. They also do not involve themselves with flooring or painting or provision of baseboards / window trim. But still the scope of work offered by Chestco is considerably more than that offered by the other companies that we approached.

After deciding to go with Chestco, the design work started. Several possible design iterations were evaluated and after about two months, we settled on a final design. Then contract was signed and we waited about 5 months for cabinets fabricating and also for contractors availability.

It took almost 8 weeks from tearing out the old kitchen, to substantial completion of the project. During that process, Barb in the Chestco office perfectly coordinated all of the trades involved including demolition, electrical, drywall, plumbing, and installation. The entire process was perfectly orchestrated. And I would add that all of the tradespeople were very skilled, professional, friendly, and paid a lot of attention to detail.

All of the cabinets are top notch quality. Couldnt be happier. During final installation of the new kitchen, there were a few small surprises but Chestco handled everything with a smile and in the end, we are very happy customers.

We hired Chestco to put in a new kitchen in 2007. We were so happy with the results that we had them redo our bathroom a few years later. And most recently, they renovated our hallway. Our longstanding experience is that they are professional in every way. Communications, planning and implementation are all top notch. And the prices were reasonable. All of their employees complete excellent work and this includes cabinetry installation, electrical work, plumbing. tiling and granite top installation. In every case, a plan was devised, a calendar was created and the work was done on time. I highly recommend them.

We sent out our requirements for our $200K + renovation to 5 design/build firms in the GTA. Chestco was very competitive. During our meetings with each firm, we quickly felt we could work best with Jacques as our project manager from Chestco. He is a consummate professional, the project deadlines were met. Additionally, he managed other contractors for us during the project. His recommendations were top drawer. This was a difficult reno on a large bungalow by the lake that was built in 1947 and renovated in the 70's and 80's. The result is nothing less than stunning. Jacques and Chestco are simply the Best. Jacques will instill confidence within you immediately about his team's abilities and will do everything to meet your expectations. Jacques, put on a hazmat suit, and went into our attic (105degrees) and raked out all the insulation to even it after crews were up there (2 hrs). He did not have to but that shows his level of commitment. We own a number of homes in the GTA and now will only hire one company.

Only the best and the best qualified! That is the result of my Reno experience with Chestco.
If I ever lost confidence of a decision I made, the professionalism and guidance of Jacques and staff made themselves readily at hand until my confidence was restored.
Due date was met - who does that?
The finished product of my reno with Chestco has left me with no if’s and’s or but’s. I wouldn’t change a thing.

April 2017 We met Jacques at Chestco several years ago. Jacques designed our smallish, dark kitchen in our 1968 home. It was redone from the studs on up. The job was incredible and it became handsome and very efficient. Even now, we get compliments. By the way, I like to cook and I always use it a lot.

The people who did the work were polite, pleasant, careful, very capable and very neat.

Since then, whenever I've wanted to stop by and ask a casual question about this or that, Jacques, or his wife, Joanne (who works at the shop) or Barb, who is the manager, I think, are always thoughtful, truly genuine and attentive.

All of them go out of their way to do an exceptional job in every way possible. Yet they never push a product or a service. We have seen time and again how ethical they are. We're proud to know that people like this work and live in Burlington.

We went into about 4-6 kitchen places in Burlington and right off the bat found Chestco to be friendly and honest to deal with. We had a budget in mind and found out after visiting a few places we were way under for what we wanted (initially to replace cupboards/cabinets...became total renovation). We initially met with Barb, then Jaques, Jo and their team who helped us come up with a truly beautiful, practical and functional kitchen. We encountered a few minor issues along the way, but their contractors, who were courteous and helpful, addressed them more than satisfactorily. My wife loves her new kitchen, and that makes us both very happy! I highly recommend Chestco for your kitchen reno!

I have used Chestco Kitchens for three separate projects. They have become my GO TO renovator. Jacques Gagnon is a creative professional designer who is meticulous as is all the Chestco team!
