Refinish Existing Hardwood Floors
Met Alex Barat of Eagle Flooring Services (250 Don Park rd.) in 2005. Very nice man. Seemed knowledgable and gave a fair, but not the cheapest, quote. It was mid-range of the quotes I got.
Contract consisted of:
- Removing old carpet, underpad and 1/4 round
- Repair area where we removed a wall
- Sand, finish and install new 1/4 round
After completion, the job looked great, so I paid in full. After fully drying, bubbles started to appear in some areas. Even before we moved in, some areas started to peel and flake.
I called to complain. They told me, on numerous occasions they were coming to fix it. Gave me specific dates and times of when they would come. I took part days off work, at least 4 days to meet them - Only to have them not show up. I would call, "Oh, we're running behind on another job. We'll be there." Guess what? Never came. I spent 6 months and over a dozen (easy) calls trying to get them back. No luck. I gave up.
They do not stand behind their work. I understand mistakes can be made, but be a man. Own up to them and stand behind your work and make it right.
