Broom’s Heating, Air Conditioning & Fireplaces

I have used brooms for many years in my business as well as my home and have found them to be very efficient and timely. Their response time to problems is very fast, we are never left waiting. I have always been very happy with all of their staff from their salespeople to their schedulers to their techs.

I moved into an older home with an older model Napoleon Gas stove which I disconnected as I was doing some renovations at the time. I called Brooms to do a cleaning, check the connections and light the pilot light. I was quoted $130 for this work. The tech came out while my wife was home and spent over an hour cleaning the stove and when he left told my wife that the stove still wouldn't light and it would take another 1.5 to 2 hrs to complete the work. I was frustrated and called to discuss the poor estimate as it seemed to your typical contractor money grab. The tech and staff were unhelpful and uncompromising while assuring me that I was the one with unrealistic expectations. I asked to speak with a manager which took several days. The company was nice enough to bill me for the work completed even though they hadn't accomplished the job requested. I decided to take matters into my own hand and after about 10 minutes I had the stove up and running (I have zero experience with gas appliances). the manager had called back and left a message by this time. I returned his call and left a message for him with my cell and home numbers and an explanation of why I was not impressed. No call back at all. There are lots of HVAC places out there, I'd stay away from Brooms. I don't even want some of my money back. I'd be satisfied with a simple phone call and a bit of an apology or some actual customer appreciation. They were elusive once they knew I was an unhappy customer and refused to accept any blame on their part.

We needed a fireplace in a very limited space. They came in and recommended a diagonal fireplace. They came in on the promised date and finished the work on time with no mess left behind. I am very satisfied with their services.

We had a new furnace/ A/C unit install by broom's. a little over a year ago. I just wanted to say they did an awesome professional job , from Terry the saleman to the installation crew.So glad I went with them!

Had our furnace and fireplace serviced after having let it go for a couple of years. The technician was very thorough, friendly and knowledgeable. Shared some tips and insights on the items serviced as well as our HRV unit. Cost was reasonable. Would recommend.

I was most impressed with their professional attitude throughout the process of selecting and installing my new furnace and air conditioning unit. The installation was quick and efficient and no mess, they removed my old system completely my wife and I were delighted

We have had other heating and cooling people in our home to check our furnace and the others have wanted to charge us a huge sum of money to fix something or install a new one. We wanted a second opinion and went with Brooms for that. They checked our furnace and mentioned nothing about any problems, they saw nothing wrong and now they are back yearly. I trust them fully, great company.

Our 2 year old A/C's coil went after 9 months of total use. As we didn't pay for the extended warranty, they charged $875 for the repair. The coil was leaking and the service guy that came out said it was most likely a weak weld that gave out and that it probably came from the factory like that. So a unit was installed with a manufacturing defect and because we didn't pay for the extended warranty they charged $875 to repair it...a nice way to make a buck in these hard times I guess. Luckily the coil WAS covered under warranty or it would have set us back another $1500, but to not stand behind their products is not good to see from such a well respected company. Had heard SOOO many good things about Brooms over the years and that's the main reason we bought from them in the first place, but will not be doing so again in the future and will now find it hard to recommend them. To say I’m very disappointed is a BIG understatement! :(

We used Broom's a few years ago in our previous house and were very satisfied with the results. When we moved to our new house we decided to use them again. We didn't really search around - I suspect if we did we may have saved some money overall but for the quality of the work, I still recommend them and am satisfied with what we got.

We had extensive work done: oil tank removal and capping of old fill pipes; replace hot water heater; replace AC; replace Furnace; install/hookup new gas service; install ductless system for an attic room that isn't connected to the duct system in our house.

The work too 2.5 days to complete; the crew was fabulous though. Very friendly, courteous, respectful of our place (using drop sheets everywhere, taking off their shoes if there were none in place etc.).

They involved us when they needed to (placement of the new water heater for instance, which was in an awkward spot before) and resolved any issues we had during install. The production manager came by one of the days also to insure we were happy with everything so far.

All in all, I recommend them as great people to work with.
