Excellent Customer Service!

Our furnace/air conditioner is over 10 years old and has been operating efficiently due to the excellent service provided by the Broom’s team. Our Service Manager Collette has been helpful in choosing the appropriate service contract at the right price and when required, quickly dispatches a technician for repairs. This was the case during a summer heatwave when our A/C went down and Broom’s had sourced the parts and repaired the unit within a day! Their technicians are knowledgeable and take the time to explain the problem and cost to repair. We don’t worry about our furnace/air conditioner anymore, we let Broom’s do that for us :-)

Air Conditioning Repair

My experience with Brooms was excellent - from the Service Technician (Randy) to the Customer Service Team (Collette), everyone was pleasant, efficient and very knowledgeable. My repair was unique and the team stepped up and fixed the issue after 4 other companies could not. Thanks to Randy & Collette for cooling me off again! Suzanne Mair

Replace furnace and air conditioner

Top notch service from beginning of process to finish of installation. Certainly am pleased with the quality of product and installation. Also were very helpful with the rebates available. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing a new furnace or air conditioner.

furnace and air conditioner

Broom's performed a service on my air conditioner and I was very happy with both the technician and the customer service representative, Colette, who helped me. I would recommend Broom's to anyone looking to replace their HVAC system.

New Furnace and AC, adding new heat run, general service and repair over the years

We first dealt with Brooms in 2006 when the replaced an AC unit in our first home. In 2007 we found ourselves in a new home that required a new furnace and new AC so we called Brooms having been very happy with them from a previous job. They were very timely in their responses and helped us sort out how to apply for some energy rebates. They did the AC, furnace, humidifier and new thermostat.
We have since had them do annual servicing, had them add a heat run into an addition that previsou owners had built and left unheated, and just this past week had them in to repair/replace a furnace part that after 9 1/2 years had failed.
The technician took the time to explain what was going on and gave us a heads up on what we might expect in the next year or so. We had a great chat about the furnace we had, its warranty and so on. He was very knowledgeable and I felt confident in the approach we were taking to repair ( and not replace) the furnace. He also serviced our AC to ensure it was good to go for the season and had a look at our humidification system and made some minor adjustments to it when I mentioned it wasn't really doing the job.
These folks have always done good and timely work for us, deliver the work as promised and have always been spot on with quote and and actual billing ( no surprises).
The technicians that have come out have always been forthright and willing to explain what it was we were paying for.
Would defintely recommend to others.

Installation of new furnace, air conditioner and water tank

In early April, I scheduled an appointment with the previous provider to service my air conditioner for the summer months. The technician informed me that the heat exchange server on my furnace had died and the furnace and the gas needed to be turned off. I needed an new furnace and possibly a new air conditioner..
Not the news I needed to hear as I was still recovering from a four month battle of pneumonia. I called my brother who had told me if my furnace died to go with Broom's. I got the number and called. The next morning Fabian from Broom's came out and gave me an estimate to replace the furnace, air conditioner and water tank. I was most impressed with the pricing and the quality Carrier products but decided to also get an estimate from my current provider as I had been with them for 10 years. The current provider came out that afternoon and gave me an estimate $2,700.00 more than Broom's for a system not as highly rated as the Carrier system offered by Broom's. My brother was so right Broom's is the company to choose.
The next week two technicians Kyle and Brad came out to install my new equipment. I was so impressed by their workmanship, customer service and the care given to my home as they hauled out the old equipment and hauled in the new equipment. They even returned the old water heater to the previous provider.
I cannot express how impressed I am with this company and so happy that I am now their customer and they will be my service provider.
Collette in the office was so helpful with the payment over the phone and sent me a receipt via email.
If you are in need of a new furnace, air conditioner or water heater just call Broom's. Excellent products, customer service and technical service. It is a partnership you will not regret.

Broom's Mechanical - Burlington

We called Broom's for cleaning and service of our gas fireplace. We were quoted $150, plus any cost for parts, if necessary. When the serviceman came he did the cleaning and sold us a new remote control for $100. We thought the price was reasonable. However, when the serviceman turned the fireplace he said that it was leaking carbon monoxide, and we could not use it until he installed a new gasket, which he would have to specially order for us. He advised the price for this new gasket and installation would be $175, which seemed excessive, but if we needed it to use the fireplace, we had no choice.

Broom's called the next day to advise that the gasket had been ordered and arranged for installation the next week. When the serviceman returned, he took out a roll of what appeared to be weatherproofing tape from his tool bag. The tape was not in a sealed bag or box, as one would expect if it had been specially ordered for us. Rather, it was regular weatherproofing tape that a serviceman would normally carry with him on a typical service call. Tape that can be bought at any Home Depot. The serviceman applied the tape on 3 edges of the glass front. It took him less than 15 minutes, and he charged us $175.

If all that was needed was this tape, and not a specially ordered gasket, it should have been done at the original service call, with a small charge for the 4 foot length of tape. We should not have been charged for a second service call simply because he didn't carry common tape with him, and we should not have been told that a special gasket was being ordered for us, when the tape he applied was not a brand new unopened package.

I will never call Broom's again, and would highly recommend that others seek out a different company for service or sales. They are completely untrustworthy.

Gas insert replacement

What a great experience! They showed up on time, were very careful in the house and did more repair work than I expected for the price. I would highly recommend them.

Air Conditioner

My parents were having their yearly service done by Broom last week on a 33 degree day. Their A/C had been working fine but the service person said there was a leak and they would either have to replace the system or fix it at a very high cost. He then told them that he had to turn the whole system off and my mom asked him not to since it seemed to be working and they would call in a day or so to tell them what they had decided to do. The service man however went outside and shut off the system and they were left for days in 30 degree heat with no A/C. They phoned a different company that came out and had a look and said there was nothing wrong with they system and turned it back on for them - for free. I can't even begin to tell you how angry I am with this company!

HVAC

Our home needed a new HVAC system. After quite a bit of homework I stopped in at Broom's and was greeted warmly and introduced to a Rep who listened and offered up suggestions. No hard sell at all. They realized I was looking for a premium solution and that is what I got. For the last 1-1/2 years our home has enjoyed comfortable winters and summers. The system is exactly what we wanted - and it is saving us $$ too! Added bonus, whenever I call or visit to get filters and advise, I am always greeted warmly and treated like a valued customer. Worth and visit!
