We have been planning on getting a insert for our fireplace since we bought our house 4 years ago. We attempted to get good information about the process and options two years ago but did not go to Hubert then. This was because we were working with a big renovation company and they work with a different store. They weren't too informative and we were not comfortable with the prices or lack of described process.
We went with Huberts, they described what to do and likely costs (including services by others). They also gave us the right information about choosing wood or gas insert without pressuring us into either.
We had our damaged chimney rebuilt, flue cleaned and gas insert installed. We kept out existing stone surround and the suggested unit work very well with it.
Just by installing the insert we instantly had a warmer basement, as we no longer had warm air going up our chimney and cold air being drawn into the basement to replace it.
We wish we went to Huberts years ago.
