Painted maple cabinets chip too easily. Kitchen is 2 years old - just drop something against a cabinet door and it is chipped. Paint being rubbed away at frequent use and wash parts. Not happy.

Our designer, Judy, understood our needs and came up with a functional layout for our kitchen that was a huge improvement over the existing one.

When we discovered an issue with a pipe that hadn't been evident when the design was first drawn up, Judy worked with our contractor and quickly found a solution so the renovation could proceed without delay.

The cabinets are well made. A mistake by the installer was rectified with no hassles, as were a few other minor issues (eg., scratches). The office staff who coordinated the installation were pleasant to deal with, helpful and professional.

Overall, a positive experience.

Our designer was terrible. Major mis-measurements and design errors were made. When these were identified the company responded by either blaming me for mis-measurements done by them because I was present, or said to the effect 'you signed off the drawings so tough luck'. not the kind of customer service I expect when spending $12k on cabinets.

A major piece cabinetry was identifed before install as mis-designed and needing re-manufacture. Even so the designer still pushed extremely agressively for full payment in advance, sending over 15 messages repeatedly demanding payemnt within the period of one morning.

over 20 installation errors were made and jobs left unfinished. Cupboards don't fit, drawers fitted with wrong handles, moulding and cupboard paint damaged. I had to do some of the install myself so the counter could be installed properly, the tech left without completing necessary items.

You don't expect everything to be installed perfectly at the 1st visit but the customer service / aftersales is dreadful. Expect to fight with them for every little thing.

When we decided to renovate our dated kitchen, I solicited a number of companies and in the end selected Deslaurier for the better design, selection and years of experience. Their price was comparable - neither the highest nor the lowest. Our kitchen is not quite finished, but the cabinetry has been installed. From design to installation to inspection, Deslaurier has exceeded our expectations. Our installer, Chris, was a top-notch professional. Installation was done on time and of very high quality. A few nicks and chips to be repaired, but nothing glaringly amiss. You have to expect that there will be some minor adjustments/repairs. It takes knowledge and experience to pull off a functional design in a small space with awkward angles and Marc rose to the challenge. He also understood that I knew best what would work for me. Every renovation is stressful and there are always unexpected issues. The Deslaurier team has been very understanding and responsive in addressing these. Highly recommend.

The inspector from deslaurier came this morning about the PDI issues.

He tried to move the island to show me that the island "looks better when it covers the alumininum trim of the tiles"... I warned him that the island might have been fixed to the ground. He still went ahead and did it.. then he broke the island board...

Now he suggest to re-do the island cabinets (excepts doors and counter tops) and the corner cabinets...

I want to let you know that this guy is rude and ruined my experience with the new house.

Very bad experience. Our Deslaurier designer mis-measured and mis calculated a number of critical items. The kitchen arrived missing items and the installer made more than a dozen mistakes/quality issues that still remain unresolved. appliances don't fit, doors don't fit, or are damaged, high end drawers don't close. They do not communicate with us, and are dragging their feet fixing the issues.....definitely a "do not recommend , unless you hate the person".

I used Deslaurier for my kitchen design and matching bathroom cabinets. It took a few visits, what with the revisions to the designs and choosing materials. In a nutshell, I expected more what with the reputation Deslaurier had. I went with full granite covertop for my kitchen and it was nice at first, but the granite started to chip a bit. At first, i thought it was because of what I did, but then there were areas where it wasn't used as much started to chip a bit, too. They came once to fix it up, but explained that it is not a manufacture defect.

They had to come over to service 4 times due to the wrong initial measurements, then the wrong pieces of cabinets were delivered. I had a hard time deciding whether it was good service or unorganized service. The guys that came to install/fix were exceptional, but how did they manage to miss the measurements/wrong cabinets 2-3 times?? It was frustrating when it happened but it was eventually fixed. Moral of the story: check and double check your order, measurements, and where the cabinets should be. Save yourself from the frustration.

A very reputable company. Our designer Gina went the extra mile to get what we wanted within our budget. Excellent millwork and hardware. Perfect installation. After sales service a winner. This company is a 10-star.

After hearing the positive reviews on Deslaurier Custom Cabinets from our neighbour, we decided to meet with them. The designer was very professional and knows his products very well. After the measurements, we got detailed drawing and different cost options. A very easy and happy experience.

Great cabinets and great advice. Barb was so helpful with the design and problem solving. She was so enthusiastic and also helped pick out the matching backsplash. She helped us stay within budget.
