locksmith

I really wish I had been smart enough to yelp instead of picking a locksmith that was close by.

My boyfriend locked our keys in the apartment and our management company didn't have any keys to the apartment so we needed someone to come over and pick our lock. First, it took them like 30 minutes to come over but, fine, that's ok. I didn't really care because I wanted in my apartment. Well, the guy got there and before he touched our lock he looked at us and asked whether or not the people at the office had discussed pricing. Before even thinking, my boyfriend said they hadn't

So the guy said, it's $95 to open the door and $55 for me to come here. So, I was sitting there and just thinking, wow, that's pretty expensive (I've gotten a new lock for $120 in the city) but I didn't complain - I wanted in the apartment. So he gets in he checks ID to a piece of mail and I gave him the money.

So, he walks away and doesn't even give us a receipt or anything. So I call up the company and ask for a quote for getting into the apartment (I wanted to see if we were taken advantage of) and sure enough the guy said that it was between $35-$55 to open the door and between $25-$45 to go there. So I was like, "then why did one of your workers just charge us $150 to open the door" at which point the guy on the phone was like "what is your invoice number?" and I told him I was never given one. He proceeded to say he would look into it and give me a call back. Since he didn't ask for my number I asked him if he wanted it but he said there was no need - they had caller ID.

So, 30 minutes go by and my boyfriend calls back and the guy answers and says he was still looking into it and said that $150 sounded like the right price and that he could fax us an invoice since the guy didn't give us one. At that point my boyfriend asked to talk to his manager. The guy on the phone (who later said his name was David) said that his manager's name was Joe and to call back on Monday (which was weird since this happened on a Wednesday). My boyfriend also asked what the guys name was who came to our apartment at which point "David" said he didn't know and that he had too much to watch over to keep everyone straight (even though he had called the locksmith up earlier to check on where he was because he arrived at our apt building).

Flash forward to Monday and my boyfriend tries to call and NO ONE ANSWERS. I try to call - NO ONE ANSWERS and, get this - the inbox has been full everytime. We have tried calling at least 5 times since then and the same thing has happened. So, needless to say, they have our numbers and are choosing not to answer

please don't use this business - they are super shady. trust me
