Trugreen Lawncare

The first scheduled visit consisted of the truck pulling up, siting idle for a few minutes and the driving away. I called the next day and was told service was done, even though I assured them it was not. Claimed they spoke to my husband (who was at work when they came). 3 seperate occasions where they called and said they would be out the following day and did not show up. I called and was told each time that theywere there and after arguing they claimed they accidently went to the wrong adress (lucky person getting free lawn care!) Last visit was early june, no visits in July or August but got a call in September saying that in June it was noticed we have a grub problem and needed to pay additional for spray (would have been nice to know in june!) There are tons of weeds, grass has a disease under a big tree in back yard- I diagnosed from internet searching (they kept telling me I was cutting the grass to short-even though its the same length all over

Do NOT prepay. They could not have worse customer service if they set out to do so. I was quoted a price over the phone and told they would start immediately. They came four days later and did the wrong area. They also said the salesperson on the phone quoted me wrong and I would have to pay more. Then they said they couldn't correct their error it because it was Friday afternoon and they had to get back to the office. They promised to come back the following week, but didn't despite three phone call and several more promises from them. Each time I tried to cancel they put me off and said a supervisor would call me. They never did. Finally, I called Visa and had them reverse the charges. Unless you have nothing better to do all day but monitor them, don't aggravate yourself.

I can not recommend Trugreen lawncare. I was visited by a sales person who promised me that the company would call me before beginning maintenance on our lawn as I wanted a chance to talk it over with my husband. I called today to cancel what I thought was the first appointment. The CSR who pulled up my file confirmed the wrong address (5 houses away), which I corrected. I told her that I was not interested in using the service only to be told that they had already done an aeration of my lawn and therefore I owed them $118. When I asked how that was possible when they did not have the correct address, she said that I would have to have a technician come to the house to verify that they had not aerated my property even though they did not have the correct address. I am currently waiting for a call from a service manager to get the charges reversed.

Do not sign up for Trugreen's service unless you want to be locked into a lifetime contract. Even when I called to cancel in fall 2014, fertilizer was applied in spring 2015 and I've been constantly harrassed for payment. They are unscrupulous.

I was told that their product was guaranteed when in fact it was not. I was told this after the first application. They came once and only once and did 1/2 the job. I requested for them to return and was told time and time again that someone would be here. After numerous requests to try and get someone to come back and finish the job I cancelled the service. I was charged full price and when I refused to pay the full price they sent my account to a collection agency. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They are dishonest and unreliable.

For the most part, our first year was fine. They did a decent job with aeration, grub & weed control. The service specialist were always courteous and friendly. Our lawn was looking better by the end of the year.We were planning to renew again this year. We called them to ask for someone to come out to discuss a new lawn care plan. That's when the headaches started. We were told that they have a "Continuous Service" plan that will automatically renew if we do nothing. I asked them not do do this, until we had a chance to talk to someone. Nobody called. They had a booth at the Ajax home show, where I talked to a nice guy named Mike. He said he would call, and he did. We discussed what I needed, and he said he would put a quote together. He never called back. Then a week or so later we get a call wanting to ensure everything was fine. I told them we were waiting for a quote from Mike, and was told that he was working on it, and would get it to us right away. Again, we heard nothing back. I was getting concerned that they would start servicing and billing before we even had a chance to agree on a quote, so I called their customer service to ensure that last years contact was formally cancelled. The girl that I spoke to was polite enough, but I really had to push to get this cancelled. I don't need this stress thank you very much.

Products they use do not work whatsoever. Upon initial application, some weeds did die off (took a week or so). However, they grew back and spread throughout the lawn within a few days of dying. Company continues to call and up-sell us to new services even though we've mentioned how unhappy we are. Do yourself (and your lawn) a favour and don't use this service... very disappointed that we signed up.

This is a very basic service, weed and fertilizer treatments. They call me all the time to try to sell another bug control upcharge. My lawn doesn't have many weeds, but it definitely didn't get them in large sections. Also lots of brown patches. Maybe I didn't water enough, who knows.
