Stopped by this store in early July. We were looking for a new LCD TV which we wanted to mount on a wall. Instead chose a wall unit capable of having a TV mounted on it's backboard plus a TV. Peter, the salesman, informed us that it would be a 10-12 week wait which was OK with us. He said they'd had some problems with the unit manufacturer in the past but was confident they had been resolved. In August had a call to confirm the stain colour of the wood. We went with our original choice. Time went by and didn't hear from them. Called them and were told the unit would be in the following week. The TV was already in the warehouse. A couple of weeks went by then had a call to say they'd received a unit but it wasn't ours and were informed that the unit manufacturer no longer uses the stain we'd ordered. Therefore 10+ weeks later we
were back to square one as far as the wall unit was concerned. We chose to cancel the order but still wanted the TV. Alas more bad news. They'd had an "incident" in their warehouse and our TV was damaged. We'd paid them $3,200 in July and had nothing to show for it. They had the nerve to forward an email from the unit manufacturer's CEO stating all the problems they were having with production. The salesman also suggested I check out a range of Entertainment furniture they didn't carry but which another store in TO did. We'd found the manufacturer of this range ourselves by searching the internet!!! He suggested we choose the design we liked then Sound Designs would order what we wanted!!! In other words let another company do a selling job for them but not make the sale.
We can't understand why they were not keeping track of our order. Why they called to confirm a stain choice which was no longer available and why we received the manufactures email. In our opinion all they wanted was a sale and they were prepared to do anything to get it. Of course we wanted a credit for the money we'd spent and went back to the store. It was a Saturday and sadly they could not put a credit through because the "accountant" had to do it. This person would not be in until the following Monday!!!!! Talked to a guy called Paul who is the GM and part owner and at no time during our conversation did he take responsibility for his company's complete lack of service. I guess they could only take money but two and a half months later couldn't give it back. A highly unprofessional company who have no idea what is going on with their suppliers and who, it seems to us, don't care.
