Big Screen TV

Purchased a new Sony big screen 53" projection TV and had problems with it from day one. Picture was distorted, colours were way off, text on the screen couldn't be read. Had 2 repair companies come through Sony, who took it away for months at a time and could never fix the problem. Finally the warranty period expired and I was left with a $3,000 paper weight. Would never buy a Sony TV again.

Sony Bravia LCD

If you are considering spending thousands of dollars on a sony bravia lcd think again.Sony has cut costs and opted to used unpure crystals in thier screens and as a result they suffer severe mira defect (cloudy uneven backlighting). If you try to watch a dark scene in a movie it will look like there are clouds everywhere.
I had a sony autherized tech come and asses my set and he deemed my tv to be defective. I was still within my 30 day return so I exchanged it for another one wich turned out to also be defective and deemed so again by the certified technition. This time sony sais that it's perfectly normal but they do offer a firmware update to auto dim the picture to darken the overall picture so you won't see the clouds soo much.So they are saying that they are giving a firmware update to a perfectly normal product? Sony refuses to fix the problem and is in direct violation with V.E.S.A. standards for LCD screens.
