Stove

I purchased a stove 6 months ago. The glass door shattered when I touched it. I called Sears and the Manufacturer and have not had a stove for 2 months. It has been a nightmare! I went into Sears and the manager was rude. What recourse does a customer have. I wanted a new stove or my money back. All my major appliances and products in my home are from Sears. But not anymore. I will never purchase anything from Sears again and will not recommend. They do not take care of their customers.

refridgerator repair

My refrigerator 1 1/2 old broke down for the 4th time in a year on Aug 23rd. Today is December 8th, I am still waiting for the parts. They have had most of the parts for months but were waiting on one more which they have since 15th Nov. They wont even send them out until next week. DO NOT buy extended warranty.

Dishwasher repair

I bought the 5 year extended warranty. When my dishwasher failed, I phoned for repair. After some initial confusion about where I live (Ottawa is in what province,ma'am?) I was told that a repairman would get to me in 2 weeks!!!

Delivery appliances

Sears delivery is very unreliable. They did not call as promised nor did they deliver on the day they agreed to. Customer service and management said they were sorry but refused to deliver on the right day. I do not recommend Sears for very poor customer service. They do not deliver on timeliness nor punctuality.

Furnace replacement

They seemed to be in a hurry and didn't want to do bother doing the best job. They even "recycled" one of our own switch covers from another switch in the house so they didn't have to go back out to get one for the new shut off. No interest finance was good but never again will we use them.

Vacuum Repair

$45 wasted on slow diagnosis, poor diagnosis, inadequate information to make informed decision. The system is a mess, drop off in one location, repair in another, call center in another. Nobody seems to know what they're doing, to be able to answer questions adequately or have the authority to problem solve to provide customer satisfaction. At the time of purchase, you think Sears is going to be there to service the vacuum but 8 years later you're told it is too old to expect them to have parts readily available much less evaluate what is needed in one diagnosis. Come one people, we're talking 2 filters and a motor. How hard is that?

Installation of Garage Door Openers

Arranged for Sears Home Services to install 2 garage door openers. Installer arrived and told me that he would not use the wiring for the motion sensors that my builder has installed. He ran his own wiring directly beside it. Each unit has 3 wires (2 for motion sensors, 1 for wall unit). Installer refused to figure out which of the 3 wires was for the wall units. He didn't have time to figure it out. He left the job incomplete. it took me 5 minutes to determine which wire was which. Each unit came with a key pad, as well. He told me I only needed one, as each would control up to 5 doors. He paid me $10 cash for the other key pad. Sears sells them for $65. When Sears called to ask about how the installation had gone, I told them the full story. I heard nothing more from them.

Storm Door Repairs

I purchased an Aluminart storm door from Sears, and was told there is a "lifetime warranty" on the hardware. The door will not open from the outside. I contacted Sears in July, and waited more than 4 weeks for someone to look at it. The technician confirmed that new hardware was needed, and informed Sears. I have been waiting 2 months for this hardware. I have contacted 4 different departments (Customer Support, Parts and Repair Services, Home Improvement services, and the gentleman handling my file)...no one has returned my emails or calls. I have also contacted a gentleman at Aluminart; again no response. As others have mentioned, I have been a Sears customer for many years, I thought they were a reliable company. I doubt I will be using them in the future.

Pickup of Bosch defective brand new appliances.

Incredible inadequacy demonstrated by Etobicoke Sears Home Store. Notified the store within 48 hours to take back defective Bosch laundry appliances and got the run around. Was assured by the manager that the appliances would be disconnected and picked up. Reality - delivery/pick-up service only picks up, does not disconnect. Sears staff/management does not give full disclosure even when asked directly.

Humidifier Installation on Furnace Duct

The salesman visited my home and made recomendations on the humidifier I needed and why. He answered my questions and provide all the details I required and then arranged for the installer to contact me and set up an appointment.
The installer contacted me within couple of days and then set up a weekend appointment. He arrived on time, Completed the install in under and hour. Showed me how to operate the equipment and how to shut it off when I would have to at the close of the season. He also explained what maintenance would be neccessary. After I was satisfied, he had me sign the paperwork and left.
