Moving

Kyle and Josan from Rent a Son arrived right on time, the name, Rent a Son is very appropriate, Kyle fixed the problems I have had earlier in the day, I was treated with with such professionalism, those boys went beyond their call of duty and made my move a great experience. My only problem is that I would have liked to adopt them both, they told me that they are not up for adoption but I can call on them anytime and that I can actually request the same men again.
Thank you Rent a Son

gardening, yard work

What a terrific service! This summer, we have had help three times from a calm, responsive, attentive, thorough young man who did our gardening chores and helped with a couple other physically demanding jobs.
We will engage their service even more in the future.

Garage clean out

I have used Rent a Son three times this year for various projects which include moving furniture, cleaning out and reorganizing my basement and garage, and yard work. I have been thrilled with the results every time and have recommended Rent a Son to numerous friends.

Bike Delivery!

Rent-a-Son helped save The Good Bike Project (www.blogthegoodbike.tumblr.com) from near disaster. We had to transport 50 rusty bikes from a city waste depot to kensignton market and beyond, -- and we would have been stranded without Rent-a-Son. We were so impressed with the team's ability to handle our bizarre, last-minute requests. Hussein and Chris were so positive, helpful and patient. Thank you Rent-a-Son!

2 projects: Moving and Yard Work

I hired Rent-a-son for 2 projects because we are n the middle of moving and I'm 7 months pregnant. The first project was to rip out an entire front lawn of overgrown perennials that were just a complete jungle at our new property. I hired one "son" (Dillon I believe his name was) for 4 hours and he worked hard and got the entire lawn ripped out and in bags. Very pleased as this was something we don't have the time or physical ability to do right now. The second project was one son and a small truck to move 52 boxes from my school to my new home (storage of ten years worth of teaching resources while I am on mat leave). Hired the son for a minimum of 4 hours and it was done in 3. Kori worked hard and had to make sure he had all 52 boxes which were numbered (they were coming out of a massive storage area full of other teachers' storage boxes.) He got them all and moved them in to my basement to 2 different locations for me. I couldn't be there to supervise the as I had to get to the house to prepare. but I was able to trust Kori to find all 52 boxes and get them safely to me.

Very pleased with this Company and with how professional and friendly both reps were on the phone (Hussein and Patrick). I am about to book them again for another manual labour job!

Gardening, weeding, edging

My "son", Braden, arrived on time and eager to get to work. He was polite and friendly, and worked for four hours without wanting a break. I had been putting off the weeding in my garden for some time, and finally decided to give Rent-a-Son a try. I was very pleased, and have already recommended this reasonably-priced service to two friends.

Internal building move

I hired rent-a-son for an internal move from one condo within a building to another one floor up (short term move during renovations). The two movers who helped us were very good and if I were grading only them, I would give the company a 10 star rating. However, I had some issues with the booking process. Apparently, I didn't didn't give the appropriate amount of info, so when I called again to follow up a day or two before the move, they had to add on a couple of more hours to the order. I'll freely admit I don't know how long it takes to pack a condo, so when they gave me the original estimate, I took it to mean they would be moving most of our belongings (including packing dishes and cutlery for example and perhaps excluding items like clothing). In their defense, they asked me to list the major items I needed moving and I told them of the large items, not the small ones. After I was told this I asked to speak to the manager, but he wasn't immediately availabe, but he phoned back and left a message telling me to phone the original advisor who had come back from vacation. Being passed along was a bit annoying. OK, so heavy rant over. In the end I would recommend the service as they did a good job on site, and I think I might use them when I move back into the original condo - especially since most of the items are still in boxes and I know what to ask for.

Moving and Storage

The Sons were very friendly and courteous. They securely moved my furniture and other stuff with no worries. I was thinking of not including my mirrors/decors in the storage but when I saw how they work- very professional and organized, I had the peace of mind of letting them take care of almost everything in my house. Their salesperson went above and beyond in finding the right solution or my moving situation, giving me several options with no pressure.

Yard work

Great service....I'm always able to get someone from Rent-a-son quickly and it's saved my neck quite a few times. What a relief to suddenly have an able-bodied helper on short notice. We've used Rent-a-son more than 10 times and will continue using them.

fix chicken wire fencing on deck. weed garden and pull out weeds in backyard

Our Rent-a-Son, Shawn showed up on time and was an excellent worker. He fixed the wire fencing on the deck so that our pets would be safe and sound again. Then he spent the rest of time weeding our garden and also pulling out weeds in the back yard. During that time, I tested our wheelchair lift and it didn't work. Shawn figured out the problem quickly and had the lift working in a minute, so I was able to bring our dog down into the yard.

Rent-a-Son also has very friendly and effecient office staff. The phone was answered promptly, my estimate was emailed to me within minutes of my call and everything arranged in a very short time. I was very satisfied with this company and would highly recommend them to everyone.
