This superb roofing company didn’t miss a trick. They were completely professional from the outset. Our initial appointment to obtain an estimate was confirmed in writing which included a brochure outlining helpful matters for consideration in hiring a contractor. We were in need of a complete roof replacement and when Walker’s estimator, Brian, attended, he carefully examined the roof, including our attic and answered all of our questions. We asked him to submit an estimate and he returned for a second appointment following which we entered into a contract which very carefully set out all details of the work to be done. This included removal of two layers of old shingles, removal and replacements of all vents and roof valleys and replacement of any deteriorated roof boards, the installation of underlay as well as underlayment to cover the entire roof area; the installation of new shingles, and very importantly, new soffit venting. Walker’s confirmed in writing the tentative date in mid November for the work to commence with an estimate as to how long it would take. With the confirmation came a roofing pre-construction check list to enable us to carefully prepare for Walker’s attendance. The work started right of schedule, two days prior to which Jim attended to confirm details of the placement of equipment and materials. Starting on November 15, Christian and his crew of three worked carefully and continuously for three days. At the end of each long working day they cleaned up the work site, removing all debris and making sure that roofing nails were not left on the driveway or walkways. Five days later Bernard attended to carefully check the work done. Not until then did Peter Walker ask for payment of the balance of the contract price which includes a 25 year manufacturer’s warranty for labour and materials. The motto of Peter & Greg Walker Contracting Inc. is “We Eliminate your Risk!” I think it should be changed to “We Eliminate your Risk and give you Peace of Mind!”

From the first contact by telephone, everyone at Walker’s is keenly interested in providing service. The estimate procedure is very detailed and each item is discussed in depth. I felt comfortable with all the workers who were friendly and confident about what they were doing. If I asked for an additional service such as disconnecting aerial wires, it was done without question. The price is higher than average but there were numerous additions to my job with other firms did not offer. I feel the peace of mind is worth the extra cost.

We had Peter & Greg replace our old plastic skylights. They explained the options, described in detail the scope of work and did the install on time and on budget, using professional and courteous crews. There were a couple of minor items to be dealt with after the install - they promptly resolved them. Peter & Greg have also referred us to other high quality contractors for some other jobs which we have had done. Highly recommended.

We recently completed a major renovation of our house, and Walker Contracting was one of the best contractors that we dealt with. They were very thorough and professional from start to finish. They discussed in detail the options available and did the job well and in the time alloted. The work crew was easy to deal with. The property was well protected and cleanup was thorough. Since the job was completed, I twice had followup questions that Peter Walker came by to deal with promptly. The cost was a good deal higher than the other quotes that I obtained, but I'm happy with the choice that I made.

My low slope roof required recommendation regarding roof protection and ventilation. All information was provided to make the proper decisions. Work was started and completed ahead of schedule and clean up performed satisfactorily.

The installation crew were great. We have dogs and the crew were very considerate in making sure the backyard was available and clean of all debris at the end of each day. Basically the back garden got an end of job clean every day of the job. This was very appreciated by us and the dogs. We were very aware it was above and beyond the scope of the contract.
The roof itself has never looked better. New vents and sofits were installed. On an 80 year old house the new additions look like they were always there, blending nicely with the style of the home and giving it a face lift at the same time. Well done guys!

I got these guys to change my garage gutters and downspout. Since I've used them before and it was a small job I knew I wasn't going to get up sold anything else. My appointment got rescheduled to an earlier date which worked for me and when the crew showed up they were quick and relatively quiet. I ordered the lindab round gutters to match my house which were replaced by them in 2011 because of leaks, overall great service and a low price.

A renovation is like buying a car- you can choose to buy a Pinto or a BMW. And depending on the price, you definitely get what you pay for. With purchases like a car or a renovation it becomes painfully apparent when you spend too little. A renovation that costs more means you get skilled professionals and quality products. Walker Contracting is just that- they are the best in the business. Piece of mind is worth the extra cost.
Several months after finishing my roof, another contractor accidentally damaged one shingle. Walker Bros were working on my neighbors house at the time and they repaired my roof that day. I totally expected a bill for the repair and was told it was part of their service commitment. Like I said, 'You get what you pay for'.

From the beginning of the project until the end, the staff was always very professional, informative and reliable. I think what impressed me most about dealing with this company, was that everyone in the company that I came in contact with, took a personal interest in my job (even though it was not a very big project), including both owners Greg & Peter. Upon completion of the excellent job done at my home, Peter Walker even came to my home personally to thank me for my business.
