I listened to the radio ads and thought I would ask Penfolds Roofing Inc for a solar quote for my property. I contacted the company, provided them with the information they requested (BC Hydro bills and address) and waited. Eventually they sent me a very generic report showing me how advantageous adding solar panels would be to my home. The report was so generic and only provided a partial cost estimate that it was effectively useless. They also conveniently provided financing options for the project. I had many questions so sent an e-mail to their "technical advisor" (Dylan). He promised to get back to me with the answers in a few days, but never did. I followed up a second time and this time he offered to visit me with a guy named Ken. I assume this is another person from the company who could answer my questions. I asked that he respond in writing to my questions from my original e-mail first, like he promised to do, before we meet. I never heard from him again. My feeling was the company is quick to market its products and provide quotes BUT is very sales focused. The fact that the technical advisor promised to deliver a response to my e-mail and didn't, despite me following up with him, shows that the company's motives are questionable and that they are really not interested in customers doing any level of due diligence. It is really a pretty sad business practice. I would caution anyone contemplating doing business with them to do their due diligence and be very careful before engaging them for high priced projects.
