Waterproofing review in Oakville

Gavin dealt with waterproofing on my hundred-year-old plus house a few years ago. I was impressed with the company overall they’ve been around for a long time. The work was completed within the timeline Gavin had given me in a professional manner. Sometimes the true test of a company is when you have to call them back and there’s a warranty issue. I recently had to do that Gavin Responded quickly and the problem was resolved within one week. I can’t say enough positive about this experience, Gavin in particular and the people who did the work were helpful and patient and left the jobsite impeccable. I jokingly call Gavin the water whisper!

They did parging and other minor masonry work at a rental property I own. The job was well done and exceeded my expectations as far as quality of labour and material used. Worker was also friendly and respectful working around tenants.

The crew that came to dig down about 7 feet on two walls of our home and waterproof the walls was very professional and hard-working. Before they started Milan had to pull up most of our deck and replaced it so well that it looks like it was never taken up. All the men who worked at our home were excellent and a large job was completed much more quickly than we expected.

I wanted to let other people know about the great work your company does. Unfortunately we had problems with the integrity of the foundation of our house. Gavin came over, reviewed the problem, recommended a structural engineer, and the process got started. I cant say enough about Gavin and his crew. They were fantastic. After demoing the basement and breaking up the floor Gavin realized that the structural issues were much worse. The scope of the work changed. Gavin kept us informed and up to date on all of the issues. Once the work was completed Gavin ensured that everything was cleaned up inside and out. The issues with the house were not something we ever expected. Having said that, the experience with Gavin and his crew was nothing but positive. I would highly recommend G J MacRae Foundation Repair to anyone that requires this type of work to be done. They deliver what they promise. Thank you!!

Once excavation or demolition takes place, Gavin knows very well what to look for and what to do. Dean, was very friendly and knowledgeable and didn’t try to sell me anything I didn’t need. Milan was very meticulous and did a fantastic job and cleaned up everything afterwards.

I would definitely recommend them to anyone who foundation or basement repairs.

Foundation Crack Repairs

Any concerns I had about having a foundation crack repair done were alleviated by the focussed customer service and hard working crew on the job. Dean provnded good information, including instructive videos, prior to contract signing, liaised with the landscaper and returned to review the site after completion.

Digging in heavy clay soil can't be easy, but the crew met the challenge efficiently and expeditiously, completing the job in two days on the Easter weekend. The crew started early morning both days, giving me the option of start time on Sunday morning, which was a surprise. The site was left clean and tidy. Even the downspouts were reconnected.

It's a relief to have the job completed in a caring and respectful manner.

The project had unforeseeable issues but they kept their price the same. In fact they were so honest that they deducted money because they didn't end up having to do work that was in the original quote.

Their crew came back at 11 pm and stayed until after 1am to fix an issue. I don't know of any contractors who would have been that responsive.

They also were the only company that would put back our patio stones, which they did like artists. Milan and his crew did a great job of putting things back.

The heavy rain in April / May 2017 called for preventative measures to ensure no water got into a job already in progress; namely your property. Dean knows that and is very particular and aware. Flooding conditions can be tricky and preventative action is always the best way to proceed.

Foundation Parging

Thanks to Dean, Memet and Jose for doing a solid, professional job in every way, from customer service, quote, parging and clean-up.

The foundation (from 1924) had a couple of deep gouges in it (5 inches deep and about 4 feet X 5 feet (vertical/horizontal), likely from a neighbour's leaky downspout. The surface was loose along the whole side so they scraped down till they found solid and then built it back up with layers.

Cosmetically it looks very good while it adds strength and leak-prevention to the wall.

I have NO problem recommending this company. You can't take chances with a foundation.
