It took a few visits to complete the install. If you are looking to completely block out light, I suggest you go with the side channels otherwise significant amount of light still comes through.

When supplying room darkening roller blinds we normally recommend using side channels to reduce
the light gaps on both sides of the windows.
After removing your original window coverings we discovered that the wood framing were cut out
creating light gaps at the top edges.
After providing you fast follow up service we found
the best solution to resolve this issue for you.
