WORST customer service on delivery

The delivery service is BRUTAl and then the customer service follow-up is even worse. I will never order another product.
Basically, they didn't deliver and claimed they attempted but no messages were left and insisted that I pay the delivery fee again and they will attempt. Customer service was awful and spoke to a manager who was ridiculous.

When Something Goes Wrong

I'm very happy with the product selection and my in-store experience has always been positive. As someone without a car & poor assembly skills, I've relied heavily on Ikea to furnish my home. However, in each of 2 major deliveries there was a problem - this time awful XPO damaged an item &I had to organize a pickup to return it to the store. The refund card didn't arrive in the mail causing another hour on the phone to resolve it. Last time, they delivered a box that wasn't mine, I spent 2 hours on the phone and another XPO hassle to get it picked up. I think this is a great company in many ways and don't understand their failures in the post-purchase system.

HOME OFFICE REMODEL

I recently completely redid my how's office purchase 3 different units - 2 BESTA and 1 PAX from the North York and Vaughn store. The online planner was helpful and the co-workers at IKEA were fantastic. So much so that I just ordered another PAX unit for my bedroom. Everything looks beautiful. Thanks IKEA.

Cheers,
Christine Sampson

terrible online order experience

I ordered $6000 furniture online on May 2017, and some of the parts were damage during the delivery. Called them to replace and also refund for some items.
1. Firstly, the call center agent misunderstood my message, and redeliver the items that i would like to return. Also, the delivery guys refused to pick up the items that i wish to return and not telling truth to Ikea that we refused to give the items to him to send back. I don't understand that i was waiting for so long for them to pick up, and the guys was telling the truth in front of me. I spoke to agent after, they don't believe me, anyway, i have all the return items ready for them to pick up in the living room, and i can't place any furniture to the living room since it was so messy.
2. After the delivery guy picked the item from me, it took over a month for them to deliver my items to the Ikea store. I don't understand why it take this much long time, and why Ikea did not take any action for this kind of service. Every time, i call the agent, except waiting over 30 mins, they told me totally different story. Some of them told me the store received my items on this date, and will refund next week, and when you call next week, other agent will tell you your items received on the other day, and it will take another few days to get credit.
So far, i have not received any credit from my refund items. Will never ever choose Ikea again, and will alert all my friends and family members.
Anyway, i think the most fault is from the delivery company. It was too much waiting for them to ship my items from their warehouse to the Ikea store. And the call center agent was not profession enough to get my point.

Product return

After spending over $250 on dinnerware, I had to return 6 small items that was not suitable the following day.
I waited over 30 minutes for get a refund because it seems IKEA's return policy was to took after customers with fewer than 4 items or less FIRST. Their policy is not first come, first serve, but punish customers that return more than 4 items.
I Will never shop there again.

Ikea holds customers responsible for thier employee mistakes

Customers are held responsible for Ikea employee's mistakes, I know this first hand. We bought over $1,300.00 in furniture in one purchase and their employees had us leave the store missing two boxes. When we found out after assembling furniture we called 800 number, told to go to store as Ikea will not deliver to us. Went to store and was given one box, then found out after further assembly that still another box was missing. We called 800 number again and they advised to go to store again. Went to store and picked up the last box, the Ikea employee provided us only $40.00 credit on a gift card for our trouble only after we demanded compensation for our time and trouble. Big big insult, $40.00 credit does not even cover the cost of one unnecessary trip to the store, let alone two. Seeing we will never shop at Ikea again, their store has saved $40.00 because we don't intend to use the gift card. The employee's we dealt with on both occasions seemed to care less that we had to go through this ordeal, and I have reason to believe that the employee's who neglected to provide us with all the boxes we paid for on the two separate occasions will not be spoken to or trained better. My first experience and last, big Fail.

Kitchen Installations

If IKEA wants to stay in business with happy customers they need to get rid of Traemand who they contract out to build the kitchen in your home. Job not even done and they bill me. Made mistakes on the electrical, told me to hire an electrician and cut the IKEA wires to fix the problem. Their designer made measurements mistakes and they charged me for extra time to fix the problem. Oh and save money for gas you will be going back to the store at least three more times to get the right items and return the wrong ones that were on your order

Absolutely horrible experience.

I paid for my order and it never went through. Apparently there is a glitch in the system and many people were affected. It took a whole day on the phone with them and still by the end of the day they could not get my order processed and shipped on time. They wanted to re-do my order and have it delivered 9 days later. I ended up cancelling the order. Complete waste of time.

A refund should be coming shortly. I'm not even certain it will arrive. What a HORRIBLE experience I just had. I am NEVER ordering online from IKEA AGAIN.

Save yourself the trouble and look somewhere else.

They have a very poor system in place.

Elverdam faucet

This faucet came with a faulty nut, wrong size. I requested on 2 occasions that a new nut be sent. Both nuts sent were wrong size. The nuts are a special thread only IKEA uses and cannot be purchased at any hardware store. The third time they sent a package of replacement parts, but again the size of bolt not compatible with the faucet. After the third time I requested a replacement faucet be sent. I am still in negotiation with IKEA. Worst customer service I have experienced ever. 1 hour on the phone with the most recent conversation. This has taken me many hours with no resolution.

Love the products. Hate the delivery non-service.

Given that the delivery "service" contracted by IKEA consistently receives very bad reviews, you would think that IKEA would agree to refund the delivery charges when XPO fails to deliver. Somehow this sizeable delivery company cannot nail down a delivery time in a large city to less than a 12 hour window.
Why does IKEA contract with them, instead of a competent company? Laziness? "Special arrangements" with the procurement person at IKEA? Who knows.
Unless your time is worth nothing, and you have at least a whole day to waste, do NOT spend $99 + HST for delivery. You're better off wrestling the boxes into your car or $19.95 rental van and taking them home yourself.
